Strictly Come Dancing 2010: Bruce Forsyth ‘It will be easier without results show’
Bruce Forsyth has admitted that his life will be a lot easier, now that he doesn’t have to present the Strictly Come Dancing results show.
The 82 year old star will be replaced on the Sunday night show by It Takes Two presenter Claudia Winkleman. Although the show airs on Sunday, it is recorded after the main show on Saturday night.
On the new format Bruce said:
“It’s a 12-hour show and I don’t know any other TV presenters who do a show like Strictly, where it stops and you have another two-hour show for the results programme.
“We were trying to think of a different way of making it easier.
“It was the BBC who came forward with this idea and asked if it would make a difference if I didn’t have the results programme. I thought immediately, ‘My goodness, yes it will make a difference’.
“It means I will finish about 9pm, get home in time for Match of the Day and it turns my 12-hour day into a ten-hour day, which is much more manageable.”
He added: “I am going to feel very different on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I am sure this is going to make a massive difference.”
On whether he plans to step down from the series altogether next year Bruce said:
“Everyone has been asking if this will be my last series since the first one.”
