Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Artem Chigvintsev doesn’t want to dance with Fern Britton – Anton Du Beke’s not raving about Jerry Hall either!
It seems that some of the Strictly Come Dancing professionals are not happy bunnies!
It has been reported that hunky dancer Artem Chigvintsev is furious with show bosses, after they paired him with former This Morning presenter Fern Britton. Artem won the 2010 series with his now girlfriend Kara Tointon and made it as far as the semi finals in 2011 with Neighbours star and pop singer Holly Valance.
He thought he was on a winning streak but insiders say he is now convinced that he will be leaving the competition early this year, after being paired with 55 year old Fern.
A source told The Daily Star:
“He feels stitched up. He knows he won’t be in for long.”
We think Britton may surprise Atrem though. She’s fairly likebale, has a decent fanbase and was a nifty mover when she appeared on the Strictly Christmas special in 2010. She might just do better than people expect!
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Anton Du Beke is also a little unhappy about who he will be dancing with this year.
The ballroom dancer always seemed to be teamed with the feisty ones, having danced with Ann Widdecombe in 2010 and Nancy Dell’Olio last year. He thinks Jerry Hall will be just as much of a handful and it seems that Anton is getting sick of managing diva egos.
A source told the newspaper: “He thinks she’ll be a handful. At rehearsals she stood there posing. She must think it’s a catwalk and not a dance floor.”
However, Anton put a brave face on things as he tweeted his fans this weekend, insisting that he was ‘excited’ about working with the former supermodel.
He tweeted:
‘So excited to be dancing with Jerry. She’s fantastic,a real scream. We’re going to have so much fun.Thoughts on a team name? Enjoy the show?’
Strictly returns to our screens on the 5th of October, for the first of the live shows. Already, after only one group dance on last Saturday’s launch episode, Louis Smith has overtaken Denise Van Outen as the bookies favourite to win, mostly because of his pretty slick back flips across the floor.
