Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Celebrity lineup revealed and confirmed – Kimberley Walsh, Jerry Hall, Colin Salmon all in!

Tonight the Strictly Come Dancing lineup was revealed on The One Show, ending months of speculation.

The show launches on BBC One this weekend, avoiding a major clash with the X Factor for the first week at least, as it runs from 6.30 – 7.35 pm and it’s ITV rival airs between 8.10 – 9.10pm.

There have been many stars rumoured to be donning their dancing shoes as part of the competition in 2012 and many famous have been touted as the next Russell Grant or Ann Noreen Widdecombe, however we can now officially reveal that taking part in the show this year will be:

Daybreak presenter Richard Arnold

72 year old TV presenter Johnny Ball

Former This Morning host Fern Britton

Former Westlife singer Nicky Byrne

Mich Jagger’s ex wife Jerry Hall

Tracey Beaker star Dani Harmer

Eastenders actor Sid Owen

Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton

Former Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley

Actor Colin Salmon

Olympic gymnast Louis Smith

Actress, singer and presenter Denise Van Outen

The Strictly Come Dancing 2012 Premiere will broadcast on Saturday September 15th at 6:30pm on BBC One and will feature a red carpet event, a dance number around Television Centre featuring the professional dancers, judges, Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly as they make their way to the studio. On the show celebrities will be paired with their professional partners and then perform the first group dance of the series.

The show also sees the introduction of new judge Darcey Bussell, who, having danced with all the judges in the show trailer will perform an American Smooth-inspired Rumba with Ian Waite.
