Last night saw this year’s Strictly Come Dancing celebrities finding out which of the show’s professional dancers they were to be partnered with – you can see the full line-up by clicking here – and today, Denise Van Outen and Victoria Pendleton have been talking about their show partners.

Starting with Denise, she revealed that she suspects that she and pro-dancer James Jordan are likely to get into trouble because they can’t resist being “mischievous.”

She said, “We’ll get told off because we’re both mischievous. I’m a right show-off and I’ll get carried away. We’ll have a lot of fun.”

And James, who is of course married to SCD dancer Ola Jordan, said of Denise, “Denise is very funny…

“We clicked straight away because we’ve got a similar sense of humour.”

Meanwhile, Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton, who’s partnered with show veteran Brendan Cole, reckoned that she and Brendan make a formidable couple, and she doesn’t intend to take any c*ap from the judges, particularly if she’s upset by it.

The PA report that she said, “If I get nasty comments, which I expect early on, I won’t get tearful.”

She added that if SCD’s resident ‘Mr Nasty’ Craig Revel Horwood ever lays into her over her performance, she’ll tell him to get on his bike!

She said, “I’ll say to Craig, ‘Well, why don’t you get on a bike, and let’s see what you’ve got.’”

Ew, I think I’d rather not. Craig in head to toe lycra? No ta…

But of being paired with Brendan, Victoria said, “I’m pleased and delighted!”
