Russell Grant thinks Richard Arnold will be stealing his crown for the most funny contestant on Strictly COme Dancing this year and it looks like the presenter may have to rely on his comedic skills quite heavily.

The Daybreak star started rehearsals with his new professional partner Erin Boag this morning and while it sounds like the pair got on famously, it seems that Arnold really did have to go back to basics before learning any complicated steps.

Erin tweeted this afternoon saying:

‘Great first training day with @RichardAArnold He is a absolute sweetheart. Just sorting his left foot from his right then we’ll be off!’

The funnyman then posted this picture of himself and Erin at the studio, with the caption:

‘It’s the casual Cuban patent heel and the resort short that does it for me @bbcstrictly. Sure @Erinboag feels the same.’

Boag revealed yesterday that she was thrilled to be paired with Richard, telling her followers:

‘Evening everyone. Very excited to be dancing with @RichardAArnold How much fun are we going to have!’

She should perhaps count herself lucky as it seems that a number of her fellow professionals aren’t so chuffed with their new partners. It was reported today that Artem Chigvintsev doesn’t want to dance with Fern Britton and thinks he will be eliminated early on, due to the This Morning star, while Anton Du Beke is said to be worried about unpredictable Jerry Hall and how he will manage her ego.
