Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Fan places £5,000 bet on Denise Van Outen – Louis Smith still favourite to win!
Louis Smith is the new favourite to win this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, having shortened in price from an original 5/1 to odds of 9/4 this week.
However, while bookies seem confident that the Olympic medal winning gymnast will take the glitterball trophy this December, it is Denise Van Outen that has attracted the biggest single bet so far, with a Swindon based William Hill customer prepared to place a whopping £5000 on the Essex girl.
“Louis is riding the Olympic wave but Denise will probably start as the best dancer and you can see why these two are attracting the big bets,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
Denise is currently bookies’ second favourite to win the how, with odds of 3/1 being offered on her triumphing with partner James Jordan.
Meanwhile, Girls Aloud beauty Kimberley Walsh is in third place with odds of 4/1, the rest of the betting table looks like this:
7/1 Nicky Byrne, 7/1 Victoria Pendleton, 14/1 Dani Harmer, 20/1 Michael Vaughan, 33/1 Colin Salmon, 40/1 Fern Britton, 40/1 Sid Owen, 50/1 Jerry Hall, 50/1 Lisa Riley, 50/1 Richard Arnold, 66/1 Johnny Ball
Strictly Come Dancing kicks off it’s first live show this Friday night on BBC One and continue again on Saturday evening. Who do you think will shine? Leave your comments below….
