Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Judges underscoring Louis Smith – but it looks like he’ll still win!
Louis Smith has lingered at the middle of the judges leaderboard for many weekends during this series of Strictly Come Dancing and it seems that this has not been a coincidence.
Insiders have claimed that Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood have deliberately been giving the Olympic medallist low scores, because they know he’s the public’s favourite to win.
It’s been claimed that he is polling the most votes by far every week on the BBC show and the panel have been keeping his scores lower than they should have been as a result.
They think Denise Van Outen is a better dancer and a source told The Daily Mail:
“It’s been known behind the scenes for weeks now that Louis is a sure bet for the final.
“As a result, the judges knew there was no point giving him nines and tens every week because it would allow him no progression throughout the series.”
Insiders also claim that the panel think dancing comes easier to the hunk, because he has such a strong background in gymnastics and so they were much more generous with their scoring of stars such as Lisa Roley, who was starting from behind. They added:
“To be truthful, they have marked him harder than the other dancers because he is a gymnast who has a natural advantage over a rival like Lisa Riley.”
Louis has remained the bookies favourite to win and William Hill are backing him to take the glitterball trophy after tonight’s final.
Smith will be sad to see the back of the series and his partner Flavia Cacace though and tweeted:
“However tomorrow goes I want all my fans to know you have been amazing with your support for me and @FlaviaCacace amazing #crewlove”
“Ok well we are looking forward to the charleston and I know we surprised you all so hopefully you will like the small changes we’ve made ooo”
