Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Kristina Rihanoff warns Colin Salmon that Kimberley Walsh, Denise Van Outen, Dani Harmer, Lisa Riley are ones to beat!
Kristina Rihanoff is quite worried about how her partner Colin Salmon will fare on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
The blonde beauty has been in Canada training with the hunk this week, after he was urgently called back to the set of his new show Arrow, for extra filming.
The pair have been fitting rehearsals in around his hectic schedule and she thinks tiredness and jet lag could be the undoing of them on the third live instalment.
Kristina told The Sun that they haven’t trained as much as she would like and to top it off, she has to perform a solo and again in a professional routine, for which she has yet to learn the steps.
She confessed:
“Coping with the jet lag is hard. We’re trying our best but it’s not at all easy. I’m really worried tiredness will affect our performance.”
The professional dancer added:
“We haven’t had much time to rehearse, either. We had our first proper day of rehearsal on Wednesday — we squeezed in a bit of training on set between Colin’s scenes.”
“As well as our routine, I have a professional number, with a solo, to do. I hope it will be OK but I’m seriously concerned.”
Rihanoff knows that Colin has a LOT of competition on the BBC show too, which isn’t helping matters.
He failed to wow the panel last week with his Viennese Waltz and the judges criticised his posture and musicality, awarding him 24 points.
Kristina thinks he has to try and match up to the female stars of the show, who are shining week in, week out and added:
“It’s a fantastic line-up and there isn’t a single dancer who I think isn’t a real rival. But I have a feeling 2012 could be the girls’ year.”
“You’ve got Kimberley Walsh, Denise Van Outen, Dani Harmer who is brilliant too, and Lisa Riley who can really move. They’re the ones to beat.”
Kristina and Colin only touched down in the UK yesterday evening and they went straight to work in the dance studio. She tweeted:
“Well guys I don’t know how we did it with @colinsalmon24 but the rehearsal after 9 hours of flying went well. Very very tired thou …”
Colin seems knackered too and wrote:
“My bed is calling my name and I have to rest sometime. Thank you for the amazing support in the most challenging of weeks. Sweet dreams….”
