Louis Smith has admitted that he is giving his all to Strictly Come Dancing at the minute.

The medal winning gymnast is used to constant training, frequent rehearsals and total commitment but claimed that working on the BBC show is more demanding than Olympics training.

Despite his athletics background, it seems that the hunk is struggling to cope with the schedule put together by his professional partner Flavia Cacace.

He told BANG Showbiz:

”It’s tough, it’s very, very tough. I find training for ‘Strictly’ is harder than training for the Olympic games.”

Many people have claimed that Louis’ previous training has helped him on the show, and he’s not sure that’s true but he admits that he can throw a few special twists into his routines every now and again as a result.

Smith added:

“Being a gymnast might not be an advantage, but it allows me to add in a few extra bits to the routine that perhaps normal people can’t do.”

He won’t go too far with his tricks though, and despite doing a backflip during the first live show, Louis has stuck very much to the dancing ever since. He explained his lack of gymnastic moves in the series saying:

“I don’t want to put somersaults or stuff in because it takes away from the competition, it’s not right. I think where possible we’ll add a few tricks. Me and Flavia have a few things planned if we make it further on the show.”

Louis is currently the bookies red hot 5/4 favourite to win this year’s title.

“Louis is going to be very hard to beat, he is surfing the Olympic wave like a gold medal winner and I for one would not be betting against him,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

First though, he has to get through this Saturday’s show.

He is putting a lot of effort into perfecting his latest routine and tweeted last night writing:

“Exhausted.……….……………………………………………………………………………..: (”

He is grateful to his fans and supporters though and added:

“Awww once again big love to all of you amazing supporters that voted for Flavia and me thank you so much #crewlove”

Flavia thanked her followers too tweeting:

“So happy to have another week ahead of us, thank you as always couldn’t do it without you http://guys.xxx 😊”
