Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Abbey Clancy claims she can’t be sexy and Rachel Riley worries about forgetting her steps
I don’t know what goes down when Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch are in the comfort of their own home, but Clancy has revealed that she’s struggling to be sexy on the show.
I mean, come on Abbey… I you stood there in a dress and didn’t move for 3 minutes, you’d be sexier than virtually all of the other competitors… Tony Jacklin, anyone?!
Speaking to The Mirror, the 27-year-old model and actress says she feels “ridiculous” when she has to get sassy and raunchy with some of her dance movies – especially on the telly in front of millions of viewers, live on a Saturday night.
Clancy has been paired up with professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec on this year’s series of the show and she went on to reveal that she feels more “comfortable” when she does the slow, romantic dances.
This evening, Abbey and Aljaz will be dancing the Waltz, which is a slow, romantic, sexy dance … so it should be right up her alley?
“I feel quite comfortable with the slow romantic dances, even though it is strange being so intimate with someone who’s not your husband,” she explained “But with the Latin you have to be more sexy and wiggle your bum all the time and I’m really struggling with that”.
She continued: “It looks so great when you see the professional dancers do it but then when you come to do it yourself, you just look ridiculous”.
It probably didn’t help when Aljaz told her she looked like a “lump of dead meat” during the early rehearsals.
Meanwhile, fellow Strictly star and queen of the numbers Rachel Riley is terrified of forgetting her steps this evening!
Also speaking to The Mirror, the Countdown star said: “I’ve put so much effort in over the past few weeks – I really hope my two left feet don’t let me down on the night”.
Riley has been rehearsing so much that she slept through her alarm clock last week when she was due to appear on BBC Breakfast with her professional partner, Pasha Kovalev. Oops! She left him flying solo.
Strictly Come Dancing continues this evening with the second live show of the series at 7pm on BBC One/HD.
