Strictly Come Dancing
This week is all about romance, elegance and love as the celebrity couples will take on the first themed week of the series this evening… Love Week.

However, poor Ashley Taylor-Dawson has been given the least romantic dance of the night with the Samba. It’s a fast-paced energetic dance that has been causing him a bit of trouble. Not to mention Ola Jordan has been a little under the weather, so the pair have missed vital training hours this week.

On last week’s show, the pair scored a total of 32 points with their highest score being a 9 from Darcey Bussell. Overall, last week’s American Smooth received praise from the judges with Bruno telling him: “You couldn’t be any more smooth if you tried”. Len Goodman added: “You put the oo in smooth”.

When asked if he enjoyed dancing the American Smooth last week, Ashley said: “I did enjoy that dance, the music as well, you felt like you’re dancing with the music and you felt a bit like ‘Waw, I can’t believe I’m doing this’. I really did enjoy it”.

“It was horrible, as it went from one extreme to another so at least this week I’ve got nothing to worry about as it doesn’t matter where I dance now,” he said about being the last couple out last week.

This week the pair will be dancing the Samba for Love Week. Ashley has said that he struggled with the dance to begin with, but now he seems to have the hang of it. However, the pair missed a vital day of training earlier in the week as Ola was a little under the weather.

Ashley said: “The Samba has not been my friend as if it was my friend, we fell out straight away – we didn’t get on. Maybe we should have gone for a date or something. I love the dance now, I am enjoying it, but we did miss a day of training this week”.

Things aren’t just hard for Ashley either as Ola has found the dance tricky to master with Ashley. “It is hard, to convince your partner that it’s going to be amazing – you have to believe it, but I think we’re going to be okay”.

After the first week, Craig had a bit of a dig at Ashley’s hips saying they were a bit stiff, but fear not as they’ve been well oiled for the samba and they’re swinging well…

“My hips are so loose these days, they need a leash,” Ashley joked.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 6:30pm on BBC One/HD.
