Ashley Taylor Dawson and his professional partner Ola Jordan danced the very quick Quickstep this evening to ‘Are You Gonna be My Girl’ by Jet.
Ashley said that he loved his character last week and this week, he’s been working hard on his posture. In his VT he said that the Quickstep is by far the hardest dance he has done so far. Ola went down to the Hollyoaks set this week to see if Ashley is practicing he steps.
Last week, the pair scored the highest score to date beating the dreaded score of 31! The pair danced the Waltz on last week’s show with some very good comments from the judges. Len said he has a lot of character and Craig loved his aggressive, dark and mysterious side.
The Quickstep was quite a fun, energetic performance from Ashley this week and he managed to keep his posture a lot better in places. The audience were on their feet at the end of the dance. Amazing stuff from Ashley.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “Your frame and posture is now fixed, all you have to do now is fix all the gaping throughout, I loved the scissor-step, fantastic energy”.
- Darcey Bussell: “waw! That was amazing, well done. It should have no bounds and it should have light, trotting footwork and you gave us so much of that… you kept it going all the way through. The improvement in the angle of your head and top line was brilliant”.
- Len Goodman: “You kept your energy up during the dance and there was no slacking throughout. I don’t think people realise how hard it is to do the Quickstep. I tell, you Ashley Taylor Dawson, that was tailor made”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “A bit of spit and polish and the sparks are flying. The control all over the dance floor. You had a little twinkle in your eyes, your frame was better, your footwork was better and your timing was better”.
Both Ashley & Ola received a combined score of 35 with a 8 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 9 from Darcey Bussell, a 9 from Len Goodlam and a 9 from Bruno Tonioli.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm on BBC One.
