Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Brendan Cole still doesn’t like Lulu but he’s much happier with Sophie Ellis-Bextor
Brendan Cole still hasn’t forgiven his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Lulu and last week he was quick to make a jibe at the Shout singer’s expense.
The pair were partnered for the 2011 series of the show but famously didn’t get along and it’s probably fair to say that they haven’t had much contact with one another since the series ended.
Cole hasn’t gotten over the ill feeling between himself and the 60s star and he’s admitted that he likes his partnerships to be much more supportive on the BBC dance show.
Brendan told The Sun:
“I hope I protect my partners and you do form a bond. Some of them have not been so great, you know who she is.”
“Hopefully you are there for them and you bond with them and when you get criticism from the judges you can support them.
“But stress levels get high and so is fatigue.”
On this year’s series of the show Cole is paired with Murder On The Dancefloor hitmaker Sophie Ellis-Bextor and it sounds like he’s much happier about the 2013 match.
Cole tweeted his fans when the partnership was announced on Saturday’s launch show, saying:
“Trying to read all of your tweets. Sorry if I haven’t replied. Fantastic support and yes I agree, fantastic pairing! Thanks everyone! #SCD”
“Totally made up about my #SCD pairing @sophieeb, having a great time already. You guys are going to love her!”
Sophie is pretty chuffed too and posted:
“Got the @bbcstrictly bug. Did school run covered in glitter and practiced my dancing in the park while kit played. #motheronthedancefloor”
