As part of this evening’s finale of Strictly Come Dancing 2013, the judges decided that Susanna Reid and her professional partner Kevin Clifton should dance the Quickstep to Tommy Steele’s Good Morning.
“Last Saturday I kind of expected that the Foxtrot would feel lovely on that dance floor,” Susanna said. She added that it was most definitely the most nervous she has ever been on the show. In their VT, the judges said that when Susanna originally performed the song on week 10, her footwork was a tad off and this is why she is being asked to sell the dance again. When Susanna performed the dance previously, she received a score of 33.
Earlier this week, Susanna wrote in her Radio Times column that she end was in sight and she has a lot of tears in her eyes. “I began as a notice…” she said, before adding that she’s loved the journey.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “There was a slight bit of gapping throughout, the kick section was slightly laboured but, you delivered the most amazing performance”.
- Darcey Bussell: “Susanna, it was cheeky, sweet, fast and fun, and not one faux pas in that performance”.
- Len Goodman: “This is the final, and what a wonderful start to this fantastic final. This dance has a feel good factor and I feel terrific. This is the first round and I tell you what… knockout!”
- Bruno Tonioli: “Absolutely, the finals off to a final start. High spirit, high energy, high performance value and you danced it so much better this time. Your footwork was spot on”.
Both Susanna & Kevin received a combined score of 37 with an 8 from Craig, a 9 from Darcey, a 10 from Len and a 10 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing continues this evening at 8:40pm with the all important result. Who will win this series?
