Fiona Fullerton is preparing for her first live Strictly Come Dancing show this weekend and it sounds like already it’s proving to be a tough experience for the star.
The 56 year old actress has been paired with Anton Du Beke for the BBC series and has been hard at work in rehearsals with the suave dancer ever since the launch show two weeks ago.
In a new interview with Metro the former Bond Girl admitted that rehearsals were proving challenging, because of her low level of fitness and she told the newspaper:
“[I was surprised by] How much my body and joints are aching. I knew I was fairly unfit because I’m not a fitness freak who goes to the gym. I do speed-walking and walk my dogs but I’m really feeling it.”
However it’s not all bad news and Fiona is enjoying the experience much more than she expected to. She’s loving training with Anton and has been surprised by the chemistry she already has with the seasoned dance professional. Fullerton confessed:
“I’m also surprised by how much I’m enjoying it. I’m so thrilled to have Anton Du Beke as my partner. He’s very funny, so we’re having a good time. I’ve had so many emails from friends saying: ‘Wow, you’re brave!’ but I don’t think it’s about being brave, it’s about embracing life and packing in as much in as you can. I’m 56, I haven’t got long.”
Anton has been happy with how the star has been progressing in rehearsals and he tweeted his followers last week saying:
What a fabulous first week. Already started working on dance two!! Get her! @2FionaFullerton
However Fiona wasn’t feeling so good on Thursday and she admitted:
Feeling horrible today. It goes up and down in training. @TheAntonDuBeke being v patient. @SCD2013UK
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this Friday night and continues on Saturday as all of the fifteen celebrities dance with their partners for the first time.
