Rugby ace Ben Cohen and his professional partner Kristina Rihanoff danced the Jive to ‘Jump Jive an’ Wail’ by Floor Orchestra this evening … and Ben’s Jive had a special little element to it.

Ben said that Paso was really enjoyable last week, but it was a little strange to dance with his top off. “It’s a pleasure to be involved,” he added. Unfortunately, Ben said in his VT that he was struggling with the Jive as it’s very fast.

Last week, Ben left the judges all hot and sweaty under the collar after his topless performance. Craig said he was slightly distracted but he was a little blocky and out of shape sometimes. Darcey added that he had a lot of concentration, and he gave her a great lasting image – ohh err!

Hello sailor! Ben came out dressed as a saucy sailor on this evening’s show complete with an amazing backflip. It was quite a fun dance for Ben this week with a lot of steps and the crowd went wild, even giving him a standing ovation!

Judges Comments

  • Craig Revel Horwood: “I don’t agree. I thought the best part was the backflip. It was too laboured and of course you’re carrying some very heavy equipment. That’s sort of difficult to keep up the pace of this dance.”
  • Darcey Bussell: “I disagree with Craig. I did believe you were going to have a hard time with this style but you proved us wrong. For a big boy, I resumed it would be hard but you kept it contained, you gave it great attack and you enjoyed it, which is the best thing. I enjoyed it.”
  • Len Goodman: “Mostly, smooth sailing. I love your commitment and your turning out really good. You need to work more on your feet – it was like a trifle, fruity up top but a little spongy down the bottom. Standing ovation, well done”.
  • Bruno Tonioli: “I don’t know why but I have this irresistible urge to join the Navy. I love the way you dived in with great intent. It was a little wobbly down bottom, you really have to hit that beat at the same time as your partner. If you do another Jive, make sure you stay on your toes”.

Both Ben & Kristina a combined score of 26 with a 4 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 7 from Darcey Bussell, an 8 from Len Goodman and a 7 from Bruno Tonioli.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm on BBC One.
