Vanessa Feltz has admitted that she’s feeling rather nervous about her Strictly Come Dancing debut this weekend.
The radio and TV presenter has been paired with hunky professional James Jordan for the 2013 series of the show but on the launch episode Craig Revel Horwood mocked the handsome pro and teased him over his partner this year, insinuating that James would be unhappy with the result.
It seems his nasty comments were enough to make Vanessa worry about appearing on the live shows and she told the Radio Times:
“Age, weight, lack of talent… but no lack of desire.
“I hope the judges give me a chance – Craig pitched in before I’d even done a step.”
Jordan isn’t letting her dwell on her nerves though and insisted that “she won’t look silly”.
James is throwing himself into rehearsals with Feltz in a bid to get her prepared for Friday’s live show and yesterday afternoon he tweeted:
“Been up since 6am to get to pro training.
Now on my way to see @VanessaOnAir but haven’t eaten anything all day yet..
Vanessa isn’t the only one suffering from nerves though and Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden, 54, admitted that she’s feeling a little worried too.
She’s concerned that an old horse riding injury could cause her problems when the routines get more difficult and said:
“I’m dreading the lifts.
“I broke my pelvis in a riding accident a few years ago and I feel myself tensing up when Robin tries to lift me. Hopefully I’ll relax.”
Debs does seem to be enjoying the rehearsals though and tweeted this week saying:
“A very public hug and thanks for @robinwindsor who has brightened up my life, my feet,my smile this week teaching me to dance for #scd2013”
“That was a loooong day but a VERY productive one….. @DeborahMeaden you have one very PROUD teacher today :)”
