This evening sees the second live show of the current series of Strictly Come Dancing in which the remaining nine contestants take to the dance floor for the first time.

Tonight, model and TV presenter Abbey Clancy and her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec danced the Waltz to Kissing You by Des’ree.

In her VT, Abbey said: “When I was younger, I loved to sing so I’ve never done any tap ballet, it’s all new to me. People think I lead a glamorous lifestyle but the truth is, I don’t. I do the nursery run and pick up Pete’s dirty underwear from around the house”.

“I like to get things done, so I’m quite strict, but it will be fun as well,” Aljaz said.

Abbey has recently revealed that she is struggling to be sexy in rehearsals. She added she she prefers the slow romantic numbers as opposed to the fast and snappy dances.

Bruno Tonioli said: “Dreamy, romantic, great chemistry… the movement was wonderful. You had such a wondeful flow across the stage, incredible!”

Len Goodman added: “People think the waltz is a small dance, but it is a big dance. Big flowing movement, that was the dance of the night, well done!”

Darcy Bussell told the pair: “Very romantic Waltz, very beautiful. You made some beautiful lines, lovely”.

“I had a hunch about you two… gorgeous!” added Craig Revel Horwood.

Speaking about her first dance of the series, Abbey told Tess Daly: “It’s not a bad place to be!”

In total, Abbey and Aljaz scored 32 with an 8 from Craig Revel Horwood, an 8 from Darcey Bussell, an 8 from Len Goodman and an 8 from Bruno Toniloi, which gave the pair the highest score of the weekend.

This week, no couples will be leaving the competition. The judges scores will be carried across to next week’s show in which two celebrity couples will be given the boot.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday on BBC One/HD.
