Mark Benton still seems to be tottering along in the competition as he danced the Cha Cha to MC Hammer’s U Can’t Touch This on tonight’s show.
He thought his performance went well last week and he picked up on the fact that the judges said he was good at creating a story. However, he said when the nerves get to you on the dance floor, it’s impossible to remember everything. There’s a few ‘streety’ bits and ‘cool’ bits during tonight’s dance, but Mark is struggling with being well… ‘cool’. The accessories during rehearsals didn’t help either…
Last week, Mark and Iveta received a score of 26. Darcey told Mark that she missed the glamour this week and Craig praised him for being a “fantastic storyteller”.
This evening’s attire wasn’t very flattering as Mark was wearing a golden shirt with a big plastic chain around his neck… and the MC Hammer baggy trousers didn’t look too good either. Still, the horrible dad dancing has seemingly stuck around and Craig will have a hell of a time judging this one…
- Len Goodman: “You’re full of talent, I won’t tell you what Craig is full of. You had so many basic steps in there. Mark… do it again!”
- Bruno Tonioli: “MC Mark is going for gold… or was it brass? It was unique, different, memorable and funny”.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “I have to say I can’t believe the audience. False sense of security, darling. It was all very flat footed and stompy. You danced very badly”.
- Darcey Bussell: “I didn’t know you had it in you. It was great and you’ve worked hard on the details. Just brilliant”.
Both Mark & Iveta received a combined score of 26 with a 3 from Craig Revel Horwood, an 8 from Darcey Bussell, an 8 from Len Goodman and a 7 from Bruno Tonioli.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:15pm on BBC One.
