This evening, Abbey Clancy and her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec took to the dance floor for love week. After giving what she felt was an under par performance, she’s got a lot to make up for. But not before taking Aliaz on a wee trip to Liverpool, it seems.
The pair danced the Jive to the Beatles’ Can’t Buy Me Love. Predictable Liverpool/Beatles connection, anyone? This is a lively, fun routine. Lots of great set dressing and lighting effects, but Abbey and Aliaz are the main attraction, although Abbey is slightly upstaged by her partner’s sharper footwork. The choreography, however, is fantastic, and hopefully she feels better about her performance this week.
Last week, Abbey & Aljaz scored a total of 30 points. Len told Abbey that the dance was full of “attitude and rhythem”.
- Len Goodman: “There was a lot of Please, Please Me and a little bit of Help at the end…Your technique at times needs a little bit of work. You lost it a little bit here and there, but overall good job.”
- Bruno Tonioli: “You’ve got the best pout in the business. I love it when people come out here and give all they have.”
- Craig Revel Horwood: “You were sat for an awfully long time on Penny Lane. And when you did start to dance, your timing was out at the beginning. Unlike Len, I thought you lacked a bit of attack.”
- Darcey Bussell: “From last week, the attack was brilliant. You do have to work harder when you’re tall…but the energy and the story and the style was lovely.”
Both Abbey & Aljaz received a combined score of 28 with a 6 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 7 from Darcey Bussell, a 8 from Len Goodman and a 7 from Bunro Tonioli.
