This evening, Fiona Fullerton and her professional partner Anton Du Beke took to the dance floor for love week. The message this week is that Fiona can’t afford to mess it up this week. After kicking Anton in the shin during her Strictly routine last week, she needs to prove she can stay in step!
Tonight, the pair danced the Waltz to Pat Boone’s True Love. Right from the get-go, the routine was beautifully staged and Anton rolled Fiona into an elegant hold. The midnight blue lighting created an atmosphere of the couple dancing high above a city skyline, so the romance was in full effect. It’s actually nice to see Anton with a partner who isn’t an absolute embarrassment.
Last week, Fiona and Anton scored a total of 22 points. Unfortunately, Fiona slipped up slightly toward the latter end of the performance, which was picked up by the judges. Other than that, she was praised for her performance up until the slightly mishap.
- Darcey Bussell: “Fiona, you have turned into Grace Kelly. Let out the waist and the ribs, and you look much more confident. Well done.”
- Len Goodman: “You’re playing snakes and ladders. Last week, you went down the snake, but this week you’re back up the ladder.”
- Bruno Tonioli: “When you do it right, it’s beautiful. You can do it.”
- Craig Revel Horwood: “Your chest does need to be higher. You overbalanced at one stage…the timing was out at one stage, but the whole thing was extremely elegant.”
Both Fiona and Anton received a combined score of 28 with a 7 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 7 from Darcey Bussell, a 7 from Len Goodman and a 7 from Bunro Tonioli.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm on BBC One.
