Mark Benton and his professional partner Iveta Lukosiute took to th dance floor once again this week, undefeated by last week’s events. They performed the Foxtrot to Michael Buble favourite It’s a Beautiful Day.
“Before the show last week, I was really excited,” Mark said in his VT. He was also thrilled that he was saved a second time by the judges. “Mark is working so hard, even when he isn’t in the training room,” Iveta added. To raise his spirits a little bit this week, Mark had a visit in rehearsals from his wife, Sarah.
Mark and Iveta ended up in the bottom two once again last week but won the judges vote which saw Fiona Fullerton given the boot. He scored quite a lousy 29 points with Craig telling him it was “flatfooted and stompy” and it lacked any technique.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “Flow, movement, swing, it was all missing, and too much side to side”.
- Darcey Bussell: “Mark, you always make me smile – you were charming and you got out of bed on the right side today. Your top line is a lot better but I’d liked to have seen more flow and travel across the dance floor”.
- Len Goodman: “For me, you’ve been trained but never trained. There’s always little cheeky moments that I like, little touches that make me smile. You were like a dale really”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “Rise and shine – you bring the sun to Strictly. It was wonderfully theatrical and it’s difficult to lead a foxtrot”.
Mark & Iveta received a combined score of 28 with a 6 from Craig, an 8 from Darcey, a 7 from Len and a 7 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm with the all important results show.
