Patrick Robinson and his professional dancer Anya Garnis danced the American Smooth to Harry Connick Junior’s ‘It Had to be You’ this evening.
In his VT, Patrick said last Saturday was fantastic and to come back from being in the dance-off the week before. Getting two 9s was fantastic for him last week and hopefully, it’ll go up and up. This week, putting the lifts in was very tricky as he’s had to take them out over the last few weeks due to his sore wrist.
Last week, the couple scored a total of 34 points, with :en Goodman telling them he was “bewitched” by their performance and Darcy said that Anya works great with Patrick’s strengths.
The dance this week was very smooth, fast paced and energetic. Although there was a fumble with a couple of the lifts during the dance, Patrick still managed to pull it off well.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “An incredible save at the end, a true professional – it was exciting, you are the best male celebrity in this competition”.
- Darcey Bussell: “Craig is right, you ooze style. You are my movie star – perfection. You showed no weaknesses in those lifts and although there was a fluff up at the end lift, it didn’t matter”.
- Len Goodman: “Take him to the tower!”
- Bruno Tonioli: “That was pure Hollywood! What was amazing is you kept going into the Jazzy sequences, which is so hard to do to go in and out of different styles. ‘In the end you messed up the lift!”
Both Patrick & Anya received a combined score of 37 with a 9 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 10 from Darcey Bussell, a 9 from Len Goodman and a 9 from Bruno Tonioli.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm on BBC One.
