Patrick Robinson and Anya Garnis took to the dance floor this evening to dance the Salsa to Little Mix’s ‘Wings’ despite having quite a sore wrist. Whilst roller skating in rehearsals, Patrick fell backwards and badly damaged his wrist and he wasn’t sure whether he’d be able to dance this evening.
There wasn’t a wrong step anywhere last week Patrick said in his VT which he was chuffed about. He was even happier with Craig’s comments. This week, it’s the Salsa and it’s very energetic and fun. His injury this week has had a huge impact and the dance has had to go under a dramatic change.
Last week, Patrick and Anya scored a total of 33 points for their Cha Cha which had Len absolutely “beaming”. Darcey was also surprised to see how confident Patrick is out of hold.
Patrick went out complete with his wrist aid, but all eyes were on Anya’s sexy and sultry red dress. His arm was all over the place due to the wrist injury and it just wasn’t as cohesive as it usually is… not a good dance for Patrick, but through no fault of his own really.
- Len Goodman: “I think you should feel right at home, what with your wrist and Craig’s hip. You did a wonderful job, and giving hi a routine he can only do with one hand. You did a really good job under terrible circumstances”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “I thought you’d been electrocuted at the beginning, it was like a switch going on and off tonight. You got all stiff and then you were back on again. It felt united but the circumstances were not in your favour”.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “I have to agree, with was very stoppy and starty – there should be a flow to it and you should have been able to do that with one arm, but you didn’t”.
- Darcey Bussell: “You directed Anya brilliantly and despite all the changes you’ve gone through, it was a brilliant show”.
Both Patrick & Anya received a combined score of 28 with a 6 from Craig Revel Horwood, an 8 from Darcey Bussell, a 7 from Len Goodman and a 7 from Bruno Tonioli.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm on BBC One.
