Julien Macdonald is like a cat with nine lives. He’s consistently been in the bottom two this series but has been saved by the judges, leaving another couple to go home.
However, this evening he faced the chop once again by being in the dance-off with the lovely Rachel Riley and his luck has finally run dry…
After Rachel and Julien danced the Quickstep and the Salsa once again, respectively, the judges decided that the fashion designer’s time on the show was up and that he must shimmy on home.
On last night’s live show, Julien was told that his Salsa lacked any spice and hip action, scoring just 23 points.
Following Julien’s save-me dance this evening, Craig Revel Horwood said: “I am choosing to save the couple that simply danced the best on the night, Rachel and Pasha”.
Darcey added: “Both performances were 100 times better, but for me it goes down to the difficulty of the dance and because of that, I would like to save Rachel and Pasha”.
Bruno finally added: “I have to go for content, skill and storytelling. My favourite dance was from Rachel and Pasha”.
Since Rachel & Pasha had the majority vote, Julien was given the Strictly boot off the competition.
Speaking about his time on the show, he said: “I’d like to thank everyone at home for voting for me, all the audience and the judges – even Craig! Most of all, I’ve had an amazing time and this has been the best experience of my life and I’ve left on a high, I hope I have spiced everybody’s night up!”
His professional dancer, Janette Manrara had nothing but praise for Julien stating that she has never met “anyone that has put in more hours to try and make it happen”.
