It has certainly been a tough 13 week run for the Strictly Come Dancing 2013 celebrities, but this evening it was all worth it for Abbey Clancy as the lifted the Glitterball Trophy along with her professional partner.
This evening has seen a spectacular and glitzy culmination to the 2013 series of the show, but it all came to an end a tad early for Sophie this evening as she finished in fourth place at the beginning of tonight’s results show.
It’s safe to say that all the four finalists have had their ups and downs throughout the series. Abbey Clancy started off by not being able to tell her left foot from her right but since then, she has blossomed into an amazing dancer. She even went on to steal the first perfect 40 of the series.
This evening, she went right back to the first week of the show as she re-performed her Waltz from week one. She’s been nothing short of perfect this evening and is a very deserving winner.
Upon being told that she had won the show, Abbey was speechless, as was her professional dance partner, Aljaz. I have to say, it has been one of the closest finals I have ever seen as all four finalists have been very strong this year, especially Abbey and Natalie Gumede.
Speaking to Tess Daly and Bruce Forsyth following her win, Abbey said: “I just can’t believe it. It’s just mad!”
She added that her little girl will be more excited than her and the Glitterball Trophy will end up in her room”.
Finally, Aljaz said that he has had an amazing year and to win on his debut year is very special. “I can’t believe it. What a journey, from day one up until now,” he said.
Well, thats it! It’s all over for another year. I think this year has been one of the best years Strictly has seen and we’ve certainly has an amazing group of celebrities! I’ll see you next year when we do it all over again!
