This evening, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her professional partner Brendan Cole fought for their place in next week’s semi-finals. They performed the Tango to Madonna’s ‘Material Girl’.
In her VT, Sophie said she loved musical week. “Reaching the semi-finals would feel incredible,” Sophie said. In tonight’s dance, Sophie will start and end the dance as a mannequin and to practice, she had to become a mannequin in a real shop window…
Sophie did relatively well last week, scoring a total of 36 points. Although she may have been fourth from the bottom on the leaderboard, she was only 4 points off the top score. Craig told her that her arms need a little more tone when she is out of hold, whilst Len said that her pivots were all over the place.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “That choreography… I absolutely loved it”.
- Darcey Bussell: “I wanted attack from you and you gave it to me. I’d like to have seen a little more V from you both – just lean away a little bit”.
- Len Goodman: “The performance level was much higher but the upper body needed more toning. The one thing we have been asking for is a high performance level and that sis hat we got”.
- Bruno Tonioli: “There’s plenty of life in that mannequin. It’s bra to see you performing at full speed. It was a really unexpected treat. There was quite a few stumbles in the routine and I’m sure you can do it better”.
Sophie & Brendan received a combined score of 34 with a 9 from Craig, an 8 from Darcey, an 8 from Len and a 9 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing returns tomorrow evening with the all important results show.
