The amazing Susanna Reid took to the dance floor this evening with her professional partner, Kevin Clifton to perform the Quickstep to Tommy Steele’s version of ‘Good Morning’ from Singin’ in the Rain.
Unfortunately, Susanna struggled with the Cha Cha last week and we’re now in the “business end” of the competition – there’s a possibility of anybody being in the dance off. Susanna is doing the quickstep this week and she’s caught onto the fact that it’s… quick!
Last week was quite a fall from grace for Susanna as she only managed to score 31 points – a huge 8 points difference from the week before. Craig said that it was a tad bumpy to begin with and it was all a little too “mummy” for him. Len went on to say that the standards are getting high now and despite her timing being good, there wasn’t a lot of hip action.
- Craig Revel Horwood: “The footwork was rather sloppy, and it looked completely out of sync with one another. It was a real shame.”
- Darcey Bussell: “For me Susanna, you captured the role perfectly. Really beautiful – there was so much dance content in there and you were so light on your feet. The energy throughout was wonderful”.
- Len Goodman: “’Susanna Reid closed the show with a blockbuster of a quickstep'”
- Bruno Tonioli: “You have so much zest, life and energy. You capture the spirit of the film perfectly. There were a few mistakes – news reader by day, musical star by night”.
Susanna & Kevin received a combined score of 33 with a 7 from Craig, an 8 from Darcey, a 9 from Len and a 9 from Bruno.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm with the all important results show.
