Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Vincent Simone, Flavia Cacace and Erin Boag have all quit the show!
It’s been revealed today that Strictly Come Dancing professionals Vincent Simone, Flavia Cacace and Erin Boag have all quit the show to “explore other interests.”
Of the trio, who’ve partnered dozens of celebrities on the BBC show over the years, a show insider said. “It’s upsetting to lose all three at once.
“But it hasn’t come after a big fall out or because they are unhappy with the show. They each just feel it’s time to move on.”
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the telly source continued, “Strictly’s gruelling schedule takes up a huge chunk of the year between training, live shows and the successful arena tour.
“Now they feel they have come to the end of the road and have decided to pursue other things.”
The paper adds, “This week, ex-lovers and professional dance partners Vincent and Flavia, both 34, were each awarded the Rear Of The Year. Erin, 38, one of only three dancers to have appeared in all 10 series of Strictly since it started in 2002, is one of the show’s best-loved characters.”
As fans of the show may recall, there was “outrage” among the show’s 14 pro-dancers during the last series after it was revealed that the judges were being paid a good deal more than the they were.
The dancers were paid a “comparatively small fee” of £30,500 for their part in the 12-week series, which was less than a third of the salary of each of the panellists.
Will you be sad to see them go?
For now, here’s a reminder of last year’s show…
