Casualty star Patrick Robinson needed some treatment of his own this week after suffering a nasty injury to his wrist. This week, Patrick and his professional partner Anya Garnis are supposed to dance the Salsa – but there’s no saying he will be able to dance.
Last week, the pair danced an incredible Cha Cha, so much so that he stole the crown as the top scoring male on the show from Hollyoaks’ Ashley Taylor Dawson. Patrick said on It Takes Two last night that the judges comments meant more to him than the scores.
Unfortunately this week, Patrick has sustained an injury to his wrist, which isn’t too clever. At the moment he’s wearing a protective aid but he hopefully he will be good to go this evening.
Appearing on It Takes Two last night on BBC Two, he explained: “We were in training as we were roller-skating in our training session as well. And I’m a very experienced skater, but I fell backwards. I thought it was fine, we carried on our training and by the end of the night it was stiff and by the morning it was incredibly stiff.”
When asked if he will be able to dance tonight, he said: “At the minute, it seems like I will be”.
Anya added: “But we don’t know yet…”
The pair are dancing the Salsa tonight which includes quite a lot of lifts and with a dodgy wrist, that isn’t going to be able to happen as well as they’d want it to. Therefore, the dance has been stripped back to its bare essentials.
Anya said that was the most “upsetting thing” for Patrick as he works “so hard and we spent a lot of time with this dance, pushing boundaries with this dance, and we had to take it all out”.
Moving onto the incredible Cha Cha from last week, Patrick said: “It was great, I loved it. It went well for me, it was brilliant. It was fab. I was more impressed with what the judges had to say than the marks”.
