Strictly Come Dancing bosses are said to be desperate to pull back some viewers from ITV’s X Factor and are planning to sign some very big named stars for this year’s series.

Producers are said to have already approached A list stars such as Victoria Beckham, Amy Winehouse, Kimberley Walsh and Holby City actress Patsy Kensit and for added controversy they have sounded out both Bill Clinton’s daughter Chelsea and his former lover Monica Lewinsky.

A show source told The Sun: “It’s no secret last year’s line-up was pretty rubbish and viewers weren’t happy.

“This year we’re going for much bigger names.

“We’ve got more money to spend as things like Jonathan Ross’s expensive contract have come to an end.”
