Strictly Come Dancing: Cherie Lunghi A Professional Dancer?
Strictly Come Dancing bosses are being accused of trying to dupe viewers of the show by failing to reveal that this years contestant, Cherie Lunghi, is actually already a trained dancer and light years ahead of some of the other stars taking part.
An interview conducted with the actress back in 2001 has come back to haunt her as she admitted that she had extensive dance training and was ‘skilled in ballet, ballroom, jazz and tap-dancing.’
‘I was working in the profession from a very young age,’ added Cherie.
However many fans of the show will be upset by this revelation.
‘The whole ethos of the show is that celebrities are trained from having two left feet up to a good standard,’ said a source to the Daily Mirror.
‘It will definitely raise questions about whether Cherie has an unfair advantage over the other celebs. The other contestants most likely won’t be happy – let alone the public’
BBC bosses are insisting that no rules have been broken as Cherie is not trained in ballroom or Latin dancing.
‘Although Cherie studied ballet as a child, she’s had no dance training in her adult life, nor has she been taught this style before,’ said a show’s spokesman.

i dont think its unfair because surely all the actors and actresses who are on this will have been through stage school and done alot of dancing
pah i hate it anyways
She didn’t just go to stage school, she went to The Arts Educational Trust, Piccadilly, London where, as the name suggests, you trained in all the arts. The main emphasis was ballet, tap and modern, with some ballroom. You could not go to this school without the main emphasis being on dancing. It was not a stage school where you did a little bit of everything, including dance, this was full time dancing, with school work fitted in between vocational classes. Cherie was a very good dancer and having years of training drummed into you, you just don’t forget it.
