He was saved because the voting was suspended, and all three contested were allowed to go through to the final. Once if the final, Tom was then almost GUARANTEED to win because the outcome was down solely to the public vote (mostly women) and thus his popularity would gift him victory. I really like Tom as does my wife, but we both could see Rachael was the better dancer over the series (the scores repeatedly proved that). She was cheated out of victory by the semi-final voting farce. Tom got the least points in the semi-final and final competition, but still won. The blame is with the BBC though not Tom and Camilla.
