Rugby ace Ben Cohen and his professional dancer Kristina Rihanoff took to the dance floor this evening to perform the Paso Doble to Muse’s ‘Supermassive Black Hole’.

Ben admitted that he has been putting in extra hours for last week’s Quickstep and was really happy with the results, but can he keep up the pace this week?

Ben and Kristina managed to score 27 points last week, but Len said that he wanted the full monty from him this week – he didn’t want to see him filling up time by sitting on a sofa, throwing popcorn at Kristina… You’ll really have to watch last week’s performance to understand that.

But of course Halloween week, above any other, requires some real story telling, and one of Ben’s biggest fears was that he would not be fierce enough for the audience or judges, so tried his scariest faces out on the public taking his kids Trick or Treating!

Dancing topless )something we thought had been banned) Ben and Kristina got off to a strong start with the rugby player showing some real skills in the cape twirling associated with the passionate Spanish dance.

A few stern glares and seemingly effortless flips of his partner had pretty much every female in the room well and truly caught in his spell, with them all jumping to their feet when the dance had finished, but what did the judges think?

Judges Comments

Len Goodman: “Looking at you, we have got so much in common Ben. I was hoping for fireworks, but unfortunately there were none. It was an EXPLOSION!”

Bruno Tonioli: “Now I am starting to get it. I am telling you with all that muscle and power you can out-bull the matador.” (Then promptly fell off his seat again after being held by Ben)

Craig Revel Horwood: “I have to admit I was slightly distracted but at times I have to say it was a little bit blocky and without shape. Kristina I think you choreographed it brilliantly, I really enjoyed it.”

Darcey Bussell: “The attack, the concentration and the dance content was such an improvement. I didn’t get too distracted by your chest, but if you are going to show it off and we can see that waist, you have to use it. You gave me a great lasting image, thank you very much.”

Both Ben & Kristina received a combined score of 32 with a 7 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 8 from Darcey Bussell, a 9 from Len Goodlam and a 8 from Bruno Tonioli.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm in which another couple will be given the boot.
