Strictly Come Dancing

Susanna Reid and Kevin Clifton are the real troopers of this series – they seem to get better each week and Susanna is always so enthusiastic about her dances. This evening, they danced the Charleston to Creedance Clearwater Revival’s ‘Bad Moon Rising’. She said in the week that she was absolutely loving the dance.

Susanna didn’t quite end up at the top of the leader board last week, but she managed to score 32 points. Len said her dance was “smooth, suave and sophisticated”.
In the VT leading up to tonight’s performance, the final one of the night Susanna admitted that she had been nervous last week that her American Smooth might have looked a bit rough, but that she was pleased as she felt that they had managed to bring a little bit of sunshine to the dance floor.

This week Susanna and Kevin (from Grimsby) have been having a lot of fun encompassing the cheeky Charleston into a frightful Halloween special, something that the fun-loving duo are more than capable of doing – and being left till last we were expecting great things!

Starting with a side by side routine, perfectly mirroring each other, Susanna and Kevin (from Grimsby) bounced into full flapper action as they literally brought the roaring 20’s to life in their very apt werewolf themed routine, springing the audience to their feet in loud applause at the end of the dance!

Judges Comments

  • Len Goodman: “Full content, full technique, plenty of tricks and plenty of treats – Well done lovely!”
  • Bruno Tonioli: “Only Susanna could turn a big, bad wolf into a little puppy following you everywhere, he was totally charmed and so were we.  You come out here and you give so much joy to everyone, your energy level is incredible, your side kicks were absolutely wonderful.”
  • Craig Revel Horwood: “What I absolutely love about you is that you take full advantage of the freedom of expression within dance.  By that I mean you simply use your face without question and it is fantastic.  I really really enjoyed it, very very much!”
  • Darcey Bussell: “You always go for it, it was sweet, it was fun, it was cheeky and you hit some very nice positions in those lifts I like that conviction, keep that up.  Very nice swivels, i would just like a little more crispness in the moves but basically you are going a great job, you really are.”

Both Susanna & Kevin received a combined score of 34 with a 8 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 8 from Darcey Bussell, a 9 from Len Goodlam and a 9 from Bruno Tonioli.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow evening at 7:20pm in which another couple will be given the boot.
