Political journalist, John Sergeant, has revealed that he is sure that the Prime Minister is backing him to win Strictly Come Dancing this year.

John joked with The Sun: “I think even the Prime Minister is voting for me — while trying to save the global economy, of course.”

He added: “I imagine they’re all there in the Cabinet saying, ‘Forget the credit crunch, should we back John’s samba?’

“And of course the answer is ‘Yes’, and then they’re getting the whips to make sure everyone in the party is backing me.”
