Strictly Come Dancing says Goodbye to Siobhan Hayes and Matthew Cutler

Saturday night saw Siobhan Hayes and Matthew Cutler as the first couple to leave the stage of Strictly Come Dancing.

In an interview with BBCs Claudia Winkleman, Siobhan talked about the pressure she was under: “With acting you can stop and start and get it right. It was live going out to millions of people, and that’s what I was thinking on the night. That was the worry. I wanted to get through for Matthew, really.”

Matthew expressed his disappointment: “It’s not nice being the first out. It would have been nice to stay in it a bit longer, so that we could get used to it and maybe do a bit of Latin. I’m a little bit gutted.”

Matthew added that one thing he wasn’t disappointed with was Siobhan’s attitude. “I thought she did very well and we worked really hard and a lot of the things I kept talking to her about – her head and her posture – she maintained more than I expected really.”

Siobhan added that she loved the whole experience, especially the training. “Yes, I think the training for me was one of the best parts of the experience and we just got on really well… we just laughed all the time.”
