A special episode of Strictly Come Dancing will be filmed in Blackpool’s famous Tower Ballroom. The episode will air on the 7th of November.

The Tower Ballroom was the original venue for BBC series Come Dancing, which preceded the current show.

BBC One controller, Jay Hunt said: “It’s great that this year Strictly Come Dancing is going back to the home of ballroom. Our night in Blackpool will add extra sparkle to this series.”

Michael Williams, the operations director of Blackpool Tower, added: “It is fantastic news that the BBC is once again bringing Strictly to the Tower Ballroom.

“The ballroom will certainly add to the atmosphere and give this year’s contestants the opportunity to dance in magnificent surroundings – it really is a welcome return.”
