This evening on Strictly Come Dancing, Ashley Taylor Dawson and his professional partner Ola Jordan took to the dance floor for love week. After some positive comments from Darcey last week, Ashley is feeling more confident…until he hears he’s dancing a samba this week. With poor hip action, Ola brings in some hula hoops to teach him how to move properly. It doesn’t work. Well, at least his son thinks daddy’s a good dancer!
The pair danced the Samba to the classic Love is in the Air by John Paul Young. The Samba is quite a fast paced, energetic dance and isn’t exactly made for love week. Ola descends to the stage on a gigantic pink heart. Classy! Still, this very latin take on Love Is In The Air seems to be working for Ashley and Ola. That’s if any of you could drag your eyes away from the shirtless hunk!
Last week, Ashley and Ola scored a total of 32 points, moving them up the leader board. Len Goodman told them that they put the ‘oo’ in ‘smooth’.
Compared to some of the other dances on tonight’s show, this is definitely a solid performance from Ashley. There’s no denying that there’s great chemistry in this pairing. The audience are on their feet for a standing ovation yet again.
- Darcey Bussell: “There was only one thing, you have to lift your eye level. Maybe just do up the shirt next week and I won’t be distracted.”
- Len Goodman: “The bottom line is you coped well with a very difficult dance.”
- Bruno Tonioli: “You’re going to get plenty of love after this dance. You did a great job.”
- Craig Revel Horwood: “Those hip rolls were absolute filth and I loved them!”
Both Ashley & Ola received a combined score of 31 with a 8 from Craig Revel Horwood, a 8 from Darcey Bussell, a 7 from Len Goodman and a 8 from Bunro Tonioli.
