Tess Daly reveals ‘big names’ for Strictly Come Dancing 2013 and says Bruce Forsyth will take a break!
Tess Daly has revealed that BBC bosses have some big named stars lined up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The show returns to our screens in September and as it’s ratings have continued to stay strong for the last few years, insiders have claimed that the team are finding it easier to attract real celebrities to join the lineup.
Speaking to The Express this week, Daly admitted that she’d love a royal to take part for the first time and explained:
“I’d love to have a royal…Zara Phillips or Princess Beatrice would be amazing.
“We’ve got big boots to fill after having 90 celebrities on the show as a whole.”
The presenter also revealed that fans will be impressed by the calibre of stars taking part this year and continued:
“From what I hear of the whisperings of people who might be taking part it’s going to be a blinding series and we’ve got some really big names.”
Bruce Forsyth will be joining Tess on the main show each Saturday night but like last year he will take a short mid series break.
The 85 year old will take a weekend or two off around November time and Daly revealed:
“He’s taking a few shows off to have a rest.”
Two names linked to the show so far have been former X Factor judges Cheryl Cole and Tulisa Contostavlos.
Bosses are apparently keen to hit back at the rival TV show by signing it’s former stars, and insiders say it could be the perfect opportunity for Tulisa to make her comeback, after her recent arrest and scandal.
