With spring on the horizon most of us relish the thought of a re-vamp: it can’t come soon enough for Bognor biker babe Louise Chambers.
A self-confessed product virgin, her skin is starting to look older than its 39 years: 11 years older, according to 100 motorbike enthusiasts who guessed Louise to be at her half century.
As a swimming instructor, spending six days a week with her head dunked in chlorine hasn’t helped. The team have just eight weeks to make Louise more feminine, confident and looking 10 Years Younger . T
o reverse the damage her skin is chemically peeled and she joins the Botox brigade! But new skin needs a make-up master-class to keep it looking 10 Years Younger . The programme showcases the latest spring make-up trends, with tips to create five key looks from “nude” to “metallic”. And when it comes to clothes Louise is at home in her leathers. Take one litre of engine oil. Apply liberally. A tub of margarine. Slap it all over. Bake for 30 years under a burning sun. And what do you get? A recipe for disaster and a face in meltdown.
Mature architecture student Janice Despard has been in pursuit of a tan for longer than she can remember. DJ and music entrepreneur Simon Dehany takes his style cues from the Bible. Long, lank, centrally parted hair and a straggly, greying face-full of fur do nothing for his appearance other than pile on the years.
He swaps water for wine and beer, confessing that he’s contributed in a large way to binge-drinking Britain. Fifteen years of smoking have left him with receding gums and teeth coated in a brown film. And when it comes to clothes he hasn’t got a clue. A hundred pop pickers at a record fair guess he’s 49. But they’re miles off: he’s only 35.
Simon needs a miracle, and this one comes in three-inch heels and a flash of red: Nicky Hambleton-Jones, along with her cosmetic disciples, gets to work on the deforestation and restyling of Simon. Broken thread veins brought on by the booze are zapped and his nicotine-coloured teeth jet washed. His hair is cut and styled, he’s buffed and groomed to within an inch of his life and finally the beard is sheared. And in a fashion first for Simon, he even gets to sport a man-bag. It’s a whole new world.
