4Tune Relaunch Website

I see that X Factor finalists 4Tune have relaunched their website at www.4tuneworld.co.uk.

The site looks pretty professional (I love the logo!) and hopefully the guys will be able to use it as a platform to promote themselves after the X Factor buzz dies down. From a comment they left on the X Factor Blog, they will be involved in the X Factor tour along with the other finalists, so it’s not the last we’ll see of them.

Biography of 4Tune

4Tune is made up of brothers Mike, 21, and Anthony Hannides, 18, their cousin Simon Vitsaides, 22, and pal Phil Kemish, 21.

Mike and Phil started 4Tune after singing together in their school choir aged 13. Simon and Anthony then joined and their first gig was in a talent competition at their school, which they won!

They name their main influences as Boyz II Men, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.

The band won an MTV Base Lounge Open Mic contest in 2004.

4Tunes songs to date have been:

Week 2: I’ll Be There by Michale Jackson
Week 1: I Want It That Way by The Backstreet Boys

4Tune..Will They Or Won’t They?

It looks like 4Tune are trying to create a bit of suspense by leaving us all hanging on for the decision on whether or not they are splitting up.

We saw them on Mondays GMTV telling Kate Garroway that they were considering whether they have a future together, and on last nights X Factor 24/7 they stated “we’ve given everything, it’s over!”

It seems as though they are trying to keep the public’s attention by making them play the guessing game and wait to see whether or not the boys will throw in the towel. The question is however, does anyone really care that much? They certainly didn’t care enough to vote for them!

Simon Still Doesn’t Know 4Tune’s Names!

Simon Cowell admitted last night at the National television Awards that he still hadn’t bothered to learn the names of the 4 boys from 4Tune.

“You know what, I didn’t actually get round to getting to know them, Simon said. “Mike and the others I call them.

To me that would suggest that Simon didn’t really think the boys had a shot at winning the contest and, as many people have suggested, just put the group through to the final to irritate Louis who let them go at last years bootcamp.

Was It a Feud or are 4Tune Just Not What We Want?

Many newspapers and magazines have reported over the weekend that recently evicted band 4Tune blame a feud between the three X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne for the decision that caused them to leave the competition on saturday.

This may well be true. It would seem that so far this year Sharon and Louis are sticking together. Last week Louis saved Sharon’s act Chico, so this week she repayed him by saving Louis’ act Chenai. However in the later show ‘The Xtra Factor’ Sharon admitted to saving Chenai beacuse she was a woman and also beacuse she was responsible for sending her home last year and couldn’t do it to her again.

I think the truth may lie a little closer to home for the 4Tune boys. Had they come on a show like this 5-6 years ago they would have fared much better. Boy bands still had a lot of popularity at that time. Westlife were at their peak, as were the Backstreet boys and groups like Five were thriving. But as it stands now people are sick of the boy band routine and their vocal warblings. They are being replaced and it is time to move on.

Things may have been different had the band been allowed to show their full range of talents. If they had been able to showcase their own material rather than covering classic songs that we have heard a million times, or if they had been able to show their true musical talent and played their own instruments maybe they would have inspired more people to vote for them.

4Tune were vocally polished and technically very talented. But they failed to inspire the public, people just don’t want to hear that kind of act right now, the music industry has moved on, so maybe 4Tune now need to do the same.
