The Britain’s Got Talent panel has been split and it’s making things very awkward for the hopeful acts.

Those who have attended the London auditions all week in London’s Hammersmith Apollo, have remarked on the fact that Simon Cowell seems so obsessed with Baywatch babe and guest judge Carmen Electra, that he barely notices anything or anyone else and she in turn, just agrees with everything he says.

The pair have spent the week stroking and flirting with one another and at one point, the American actress even gave the TV boss a bit of a lap dance in front of the 2,000 strong audience.

However, their behaviour has led to fellow judges Alesha Dixon and David Walliams getting ever closer and frequently, when acts performed for the panel, the judges would split in two, with Simon and Carmen voting one way and the other two stars voting the other.

A source told The Sun: “If Alesha and David liked it, Carmen and Simon didn’t and vice versa.”

We were at the auditions in London last night and more than one act fell foul of the split in votes. Thankfully the audience were very vocal in their opinions and may have saved at least one hopeful, when they demanded the judges give them a second chance.

Carmen haters will be glad to note that the blonde beauty has now finished her Britain’s Got Talent stint and Amanda Holden will be back on the panel, when the tryouts hit Edinburgh this weekend.

Things will soon get back to normal….

The Britain’s Got Talent auditions have been going very well this year….until yesterday that was. Let’s just say that a lot happened on the first day of the London tryouts.

The first surprise for me was obviously the new guest judge. Of all the people that were expected, Carmen Electra certainly wasn’t and I have to admit that her arrival yesterday afternoon shocked more than a few of the waiting crowd.

On arriving David Walliams got an incredible crowd reaction, however his American counterpart certainly didn’t go down as well with the audience. Some took to Twitter to remark that they “think Carmen needs to take a chill pill” or labelling her as “bland” and boring. Others said she “needs to get a sense of humour.” And one then put the knife in saying: “Don’t think anyone liked Carmen Electra being a judge!” Carmen was undetered, telling reporters: “I kinda fancy Simon. He’s cute and I love his sarcasm.”

The audience also complained about seating problems, while David Walliams was overheard telling Simon Cowell off for being late again . Because of him the 1 o’ clock auditions didn’t start till 4. David said Simon could not treat the audience like that. He was heard saying: “Some people have been waiting out in the cold from 8!!” Another big talking point was the low level of talent at the auditions. There were many tweets stating that it was an “all time low” and a few journalists that were at the event agreed with this.

David disagreed saying:

“In London yesterday we had the best day of auditions yet for BGT, I think we may have found an international superstar”.

One journalist however left his day job behind for the day and arrived as one of the auditionees. He claimed to be a singer, but was immediately buzzed by all the judges. I wonder what that headline will look like!

Carmen shocked everyone by asking a little boy opera singer an inappropriate question, meanwhile Simon told a 78-year-old woman she has a “naughty look about her”….same old, same old. Highlights of the acts were an amazing Czech gymnast duo, while Twist & Pulse were back as the Twist and Pulse Dance company, and there were cheers for Confusion the over 35 dance group.

Then there were the judges, who seemed to be in a strange mood yesterday. After the first auditions, Simon went off saying he wanted to go to his hotel for an hour, delaying the second auditions.

He got it in the ear from former Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha, who was angry because the big boss was flirting with Carmen instead of looking at the acts and thought it was rude that Carmen had not made an effort to look up who she and David were, while she and David had been spending ages online to get an idea of her work.

Audience members were also angry with David’s wife, Lara Stone, who had arrived for the second round and apparently kept the Little Britain star away from fans, while he had been talking and joking with them all the time before she arrived.

One said: “She was so rude. I’m very disappointed.”

David also expressed disappointment. He was upset that the audience laughed at a gay ballroom dancing couple before they even started dancing. He wondered what was so funny about “the notion of two men dancing together.”

However his mood did improve and later, Walliams entertained the audience again by posing for pictures, chatting and whispering, blowing kisses, having a staring competition and doing a very camp dance.

Another audience member commented:

“He just made everyone laugh non-stop!”

He was a bit hungry, so when someone offered a bag of gummy snakes he ate a whole bag.

The Britain’s Got Talent auditions kicked off in London this afternoon and there was a new face on the panel for the day.

It was announced earlier this morning that American actress Carmen Electra would be standing in for regular judge Amanda Holden, while she recuperates and recovers from the traumatic birth of her baby daughter last week.

The Baywatch star joined David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell at London’s Hammersmith Apollo this afternoon and helped the team sort the wheat from the chaff, as a number of hopeful singers, dancers and performers tried out for the ITV show.

Later in the evening, Britain’s Got More Talent host Stephen Mulhern streamed live from backstage at the venue, to announce on YouTube the 24 acts who have been chosen as the best of this year’s online video entries.

The auditions of all the hopefuls have now been uploaded to the BGT official Youtube account, where viewers have until the 13th of February to vote for their favourite.

Alesha Dixon has insisted that Simon Cowell didn’t steal her from BBC bosses but that she left Strictly Come Dancing of her own accord.

The former Strictly winner has hit the headlines recently, after leaving the BBC reality TV show, to join the panel of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. Show boss Cowell admitted that he loved tempting her away from the non commercial channel, because he feels like they are ‘at war’ over their rival TV shows. However, she has claimed that in the end, the move was her choice alone.

Bruno Tonioli commented this week that her big move ‘probably had something to do with lots of money’ but Alesha hit back in an interview with Now magazine, saying:

‘A person can’t be stolen. At the end of the day I was on Strictly Come Dancing for three years and I think that’s a respectable length of time.

‘It was my choice to leave and I’m excited.’

Alesha will next take her judges’ seat when the BGT auditions hit London tomorrow. However Amanda Holden won’t yet be returning, after the traumatic birth of her new daughter last week. ITV bosses have sourced a stand in star and David Walliams today started a flurry of speculation on Twitter that Jedward may be joining the lineup, with an ambiguous tweet to his followers.

It is expected that Holden will be back next week, in time for the Edinburgh tryouts.

Kelly Brook has hinted that Alesha Dixon may end up regretting her decision to leave Strictly Come Dancing, so she can take up a judges’ role on Britain’s Got Talent.

Brook was hired for the show back in 2009 but fired after only a few days of auditions, reportedly at the request of show hosts Ant and Dec.

The actress and model also took part in Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered by Brendan Cole and told Fabulous magazine that she much preferred the BBC show to it’s ITV rival.

Brook said:

“I’ve been on both sides, and for me there’s a warmth and a niceness to Strictly that BGT simply doesn’t have.

“The whole thing is a circus and I don’t want my life to be like that. I’m quite straightforward. I’ve got enough drama in my life without having to deal with Simon Cowell’s as well! I don’t want it. I’ve got no interest in it.”

On Alesha’s move to BGT, Kelly added:

“I don’t doubt for a second that Simon deliberately stole her from Strictly. I wish Alesha all the best – it’s a fantastic opportunity.”

Kelly also hit the headlines this week, after she tweeted out quite a suggestive picture of herself, holding some coconuts. Warning….there will be boobs if you click through on this link!

Samantha Womack has claimed that she was Simon Cowell’s first choice for Britain’s Got Talent.

The former Eastenders actress has revealed that held a series of meetings with the music mogul at his LA Home, after she left the BBC soap but in the end couldn’t agree to be on the panel of the ITV show, because of other jobs.

The stunning actress is currently playing the leading role Ensign Nellie Forbush, a U.S. Navy nurse from Little Rock, Arkansas, in the Lincoln Center production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical South Pacific at the Barbican Theatre in London. She is contracted to the show until March and so would not have been able to attend a number of auditions for Britain’s Got Talent.

She told The Mirror:

“Simon invited me to Los Angeles. I spent a lot of time at his house while we talked about me joining the show.

“But the dates didn’t work out because I am contracted to South Pacific until March.”

The news most likely won’t sit well with Alesha Dixon, who ended up on the panel in Sam’s place, especially after Simon admitted last week that 70% of the reason he asked the Strictly Come Dancing judge to join his series, was to annoy BBC bosses.

Dixon is said to have had another uncomfortable moment at the Cardiff auditions last weekend. She was flirting with a handsome saxophone player at the tryouts, only to find out that he had actually played at her doomed wedding to ex-husband MC Harvey.

Today she wakes up to the news that her ex not only cheated on her with Javine, but in 2010 went on to date her close pal Cheryl Cole.

Simon Cowell and David Walliams were playing the role of matchmakers at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Cardiff at the weekend and insiders say that Alesha Dixon wasn’t too pleased with their antics.

The new pals were determined to get the former Strictly Come Dancing judge a new man and so when they took a shine to a rapper who was trying out for the ITV show, they gave him Dixon’s hotel and room number in front of the entire audience.

A BGT source told The Sun:

“You could see that Simon and David were being mischievous. It was like they wanted to make a point about Alesha being single. But this guy was definitely not Alesha’s type.”

Cowell told the auditionee exactly where he could find the brunette beauty and claimed that she would be waiting there for their date, any time after midnight.

The insider added:

“Alesha couldn’t believe they had disclosed where she was staying. She had to change her hotel room as soon as filming finished for the day.”

The mood seemed to be light at the auditions throughout the weekend, with Ant and Dec admitting that they have never seen show boss Simon Cowell so happy and giggly.

They claim that he has struck up quite the bromance with Little Britain star David Walliams and Alesha conceded the fact, claiming that with Amanda Holden missing from the panel, she found it hard to get a word in edge-ways yesterday.

The Britain’s Got Talent auditions kicked off this week in Manchester and we have the first official picture taken of the brand new judging panel.

Alesha Dixon has jumped ship from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, to join the ITV show (though Simon Cowell recently revealed that he almost gave her an X Factor job last year) and looked stunning in a thigh skimming yellow chiffon, halter necked dress.

David Walliams looked suave as he turned up for his first ever reality TV job and his confident smile hid the fact that last week he confessed to being incredibly nervous about his new role, because he doesn’t want to have to get tough with any hopefuls.

Amanda Holden returned for her sixth year on the ITV show and was glowing as she showed off the hint of a baby bump. The actress is due to give birth to her second child before the live shows start on ITV1 this April.

Simon Cowell flew back to London earlier this month to prepare for the new series of BGT and today looked….well exactly the same as always in his grey sweater and scruffy looking jeans. You think he would make more of an effort!

Alesha Dixon may have joined the judging panel for Britain’s Got Talent this year, but show boss Simon Cowell has revealed that she could have just as easily ended up as a judge on his other talent show, The X Factor.

The former Strictly Come Dancing panelist and Mystique singer presided over her first auditions for the ITV show in Manchester yesterday and speaking to the press outside, Cowell confessed that he’s been trying to sign her for one of his shows for a while.

“I’d approached her originally to do X Factor but she’s ended up on Got Talent,” he told The Mirror. “I just wanted her for one of our shows. I thought she looked brilliant.

“She’s got energy, she gets it, and she wanted to do something different, not just for the money. She’s an ambitious girl and I wanted to work with her.”

The X Factor suffered at the hands of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing this year, repeatedly bringing in lower ratings than the dance show and there is worries that the same thing will happen if Britain’s Got Talent goes up against The Voice. However the music mogul says that he’ll “do what it takes” to triumph in the ratings war, adding:

“With us and the BBC, I laugh about it, but there is unbelievable rivalry now. They want to be number one, I want to be number one. We do what it takes.

“It’s a game, all meant to be in good spirit, and it’s not supposed to be dirty tricks. We all begrudgingly shake hands when we see each other – but you don’t do anything for second place.”

After it was announced that Alesha Dixon was leaving Strictly Come Dancing, and taking a spot on the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel, many names have been suggested as her new replacement.

Firstly fans started campaigning for the return of Arlene Phillips – who was sacked and replaced by Dixon back in 2010 – and then some suggested that either Chelsee Healy or Nancy Dell’Olio would be next in the hot seat.

However bookies have predicted that the new Strictly judge may in fact be former contestant Russell Grant.

Ladbrokes have seen money laid on the astrologer who has been slashed to just 2/1 (from 40/1) to replace Alesha Dixon on the judging panel. However Kara Tointon remains the favourite at 7/4 and Karen Hardy has been pushed out to 4/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Russell was a firm punters favourite and ratings would surely rocket if he joined the judging panel.”
