Chantelle Houghton is reportedly hurt and upset by persistent rumours that she and Alex Reid have split up.

The former Celebrity Big Brother winner is currently pregnant to the burly cage fighter and the pair are engaged to be married, after he proposed on Irish TV last year. However, there has been a lot of talk and rumours, suggesting that they have now cancelled their wedding plans, after months of arguing.

A friend told new! magazine, that Chantelle has been ‘very upset’ by the claims and explained:

“She is very upset by all the rumours and doesn’t need the stress right now.

“Like any normal couple, they have the odd spat, but the wedding is far from off.”

Sources close to the blonde beauty are now worried that the stress of the situation could affect Chantelle’s pregnancy and added:

“She is anxious enough that everything is going to be OK with the baby, so suggestions that she and Alex are having problems have really got to her.”

The rumours started after Chantelle was photographed earlier this month, not wearing her engagement ring. She tried to set the record straight on Twitter and explained that she sometimes doesn’t wear the ring, because it is too expensive.

She tweeted: “I don’t wear my engagement ring everyday it cost so much money, I get scared of being mugged.

Always the knight in shining armour, Alex also waded into the argument and defended his relationship writing on Twitter:

“The power of journalism is very dangerous.

“Totally understand being in public eye puts us in firing line and people who wrote story feel it’s Their right to tell the truth whilst making them money & more popular, but these recent stories r not true &r damaging 2a happy couple. Heyho [sic].”

Does anyone else feel that Alex is being a little hypocritical in hitting out at the press as he is, considering that he has made his fortune from staged relationships, photo opportunities and tell all magazine interviews over the past number of years?

Alex Reid and Chantelle Houghton are reportedly set to follow in the footsteps of Katie Price and Peter Andre and star in a reality TV show about their life.

The newly engaged couple are expecting their first child together and plan to get married in 2013 and insiders say they plan to fund the lavish event, by starring in their own fly on the wall documentary series.

Cameras will follow the pair as they prepare for the birth of their baby and begin organising their nuptials and rights to the TV show will be pitched to TV bosses in the new year.

Alex of course has experience of this sort of invasive TV coverage, having starred in his ex-wife Katie Price’s series before they split last year.

Both stars also shot to fame when they won Channel 4′s Celebrity Big Brother, so the intrusive camera presence will seem more normal to them than most.

Chantelle Houghton has admitted that she is loving being pregnant and enjoying the effect that their impending arrival is having on her relationship with fiance, Alex Reid.

The former Celebrity Big Brother stars haven’t even been dating for a full year yet, but in October the cage fighting star proposed to the blonde beauty live on an Irish TV chat show.

They revealed that they were expecting their first baby together a few weeks later.

In an interview with new! magazine, Chantelle – who was previously married to Ordinary Boys singer Preston – admitted that the new developments have made her and Alex’s love ‘stronger’ and explained:

“It’s stronger. It’s brilliant and we can’t wait. He’s so excited. When he sees my bump, he’s like, ‘Wow!’

“Everyone is waiting on me hand and foot. It’s brilliant! Alex is so supportive. He won’t let me carry anything heavy and he’s always asking if I want anything.”

Houghton admitted that she finds it strange when people make a bigger fuss over their wedding than their baby and added:

“It’s weird because I already feel married to him. A baby’s a bigger commitment than a wedding.”

“We weren’t going to get married for a year and a half anyway. It’s nice – I can lose the baby weight and we can have our baby at our wedding! That, to me, is amazing.”

The boy or girl is favourite to follow its father in name terms, with Alexander or Alex at 5/1, with Chantelle being an option at 10/1.

Alex’s Big Brother nickname, Rocky, is a 16/1 shot. But you have to go a long way down the book to find the odds for names of former lovers to appear. Katie is 50/1 and Chantelle’s ex Preston at 500/1.

Alex, who’s dating former Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton, is coming out of retirement on Saturday to face his rival Jason ‘Badass’ Barrett.

We’ve been waiting all day and at 9.55pm this evening, this year’s first full length Big Brother promo aired on Channel 5.

It was like a who’s who of famous BB faces from years gone by and we had quite a lot of fun spotting and naming some of our favourite (and also most annoying) housemates.

We have compiled most of them in a list below, though we know there are some names missing, so feel free to leave a comment below if you can identify any more.

The video starts out with Makosi on the phone and leads into various cast members dancing and miming to an adaptation of David Guetta’s popular dance track – When Love Takes Over renamed When Bruv Takes Over and at the end, as all the BB stars gathered in what looked like a massive field, Marcus Bentley exclaimed:

‘It’s back and it’s ready to take over your summer! Big Brother 2011 starts with Celebrity Big Brother, coming soon to Channel 5.’

After revealing last week that she might never be a mum, Chantelle Houghton says she’s still determined to have kids.

Last week Chantelle Houghton told heat magazine that as a result of years of bulimia and dieting, it is now almost impossible for her to have a child naturally. She also revealed that if she is ever to be a mum, she’ll need IVF – and it must be done within the next three years. This week, in Part Two of the heartbreaking interview with Chantelle, the 27-year-old reveals that she is so determined to have a baby she’ll do whatever it takes. She also divulges how this news has affected her very new relationship with Alex Reid.

She says: “I feel numb, and like I can’t relax until I have children. The cruel irony is that I’ve been on the Pill for years and years. I’m still coming to terms with it and Alex is, too, but he says he’ll support me. Time is ticking and it feels as though the walls are closing in. There are only three years left on my body clock.”

Asked if she’s prepared to become a mum in the next three years, she answered, “Yes. I’m not prepared to live my life without having children, so I need to work out the next step. You take having kids for granted, and it’s not until you’re told you can’t [have them] that you realise how important it is.”

“It’s hard for me and it’s hard for Alex. But I don’t want to do this alone. I don’t want to use a sperm donor. When I was told the results, I had to go and see a counsellor. She sat and cried with me. I asked her if she saw a lot of girls of my age in my situation and she said, “Would it help if I answered that?” Which obviously meant no.”

Speaking about Alex, she gushed: “He is sensitive, kind and thoughtful. He’s a gentle giant, kind-hearted and lovely – especially over this. He hasn’t run away. That says a lot about him.”

27 year old Chantelle, who split from Crimewatch host Rav Wilding earlier this year after branding their relationship “a mistake”, said of Alex, “It’s still very early days. We’ve not said that word yet.

“But I’m definitely not scared of falling in love again.”

Describing Alex as “breathtaking” she went on to say that her relationship with Alex made her feel “protected”.

She added, “Some people say there was hardly any time between Alex and Rav. But what should I do?

“Say, ‘I really like this guy,’ but sit there and stick my head in the sand for six months because I’ve just come out of a relationship, or do I go for it?”

“We’ve got a lot in common. We both won Celebrity Big Brother, we’ve both met someone and fallen in love quickly, got married quickly — and ended it quickly.

“There’s so many similarities. It’s easy. We’re always laughing and joking. We enjoy spending time together and I look forward to seeing him.

“We’ve both learned from previous relationships — I met Preston and, bang, I was with him.

“He met Kate and, bang, he was with her. We’ve learned not to rush into things.

“I’m not worried about falling in love. If I get my heart broken, then I will.

“People think he’s just a cage fighter, but he’s really sensitive. He’s really caring and goes out of his way to help people.

“He gets the door, he’s a gentleman. There’s no jealousy — Alex gets that I’ve been married before. Rav couldn’t accept it. He was jealous.”

Reality TV babe Chantelle Houghton has finally opened up about her new lover Alex Reid.

The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate told Fabulous magazine that the cage fighting star has made quite an impression on her already, explaining:

“I like him, I can be myself with Alex plus he’s gorgeous.”

Chantelle has undergone drastic changes to her looks via the surgeon’s knife, but all for the wrong reasons, she confessed:

“I had my boobs done, my lips done, hair extensions…I think I got addicted to lip fillers, I’d get them done and then be back within three or four weeks asking for them to be done again. It was a cry for attention.”

The blonde beauty also revealed that being a Big Brother star has given her amazing perks, she added:

“All of a sudden I was famous, everyone knew my name and Princess Diana’s dressmaker was offering to make my wedding gown”.

Alex Reid has admitted that he is deliriously happy, now that he is dating Chantelle Houghton.

The cage fighting star was dumped by his wife Katie Price earlier this year, after only eleven months of marriage and keen to show that he’s moved on, Reid gave an interview to new! magazine, praising his new girlfriend.

Alex and Celebrity Big Brother star Chantelle were first spotted out together two months ago and he confessed that he likes to behave like a ‘gentleman’ when she’s around.

He said:

“The great thing about Chantelle is that she’s so feminine. It’s nice to be with someone who’s a real lady. Is that a little dig?

“She really is just so sweet, so girly. I’m like a little kid and I play around. She’ll find it funny but I want to be a gentleman.”

However he does still miss The Pricey….or at least the career opportunities their marriage brought with it. Reid added:

“Being with her was brilliant. It opened so many doors. It got me put on the map.

“I’m deeply sad it didn’t work out. I was devastated. But now I can actually smile about it and think: ‘Thank you very much.’ Big learning curve. It’s sad because I was fighting the whole way to save it. It wasn’t my choice to split.”

He then tried to protest that his new relationship with Chantelle is NOT a rebound affair (we always thought it was a PR stunt ourselves) insisting:

“It’s definitely not a rebound. Chantelle’s a lovely girl. Such a lady. I need that. No expectations – marriage, kids, you know?

“She’s in the same spotlight so she understands it. Whoever I’m with is going to get scrutinised.”

We think the fame hungry pair are just hoping Channel 5 bosses will take notice of them and ask them to re-enter the Celebrity Big Brother house this summer. Let’s face it, they’re not doing much else!
