Alexandra Burke has admitted that she would love to join the X Factor judging panel on a full time basis.

The former winner of the ITV show stepped into cover for Kelly Rowland for one weekend of last year’s series and liked it so much that she has confessed she would jump at the chance to do it again.

Speaking to The Mirror about the possibility of joining the series this year, Alex said:

“I’m a bit like Marmite. Simon Cowell called me Marmite once and I’m happy with that.

“If I get asked to do the role then yes. But I wouldn’t put myself forward for it.”

Burke revealed that she had great ‘fun’ on the panel last year and admitted that even though she only got three hours notice before she stepped in, she loved every minute of her appearance.

She added:

“People kept saying to me, ‘Why are you smiling so much?’ and I was like, ‘I am on the panel! I’m one of the luckiest girls on the planet right now!’

“I can’t watch it back though as I just look at myself and go, ‘Why are you so hyper, woman? Calm down!’ But I was just being myself and took what I’ve learned, not just from being on X Factor.”

Little Mix and Alexandra Burke took to the stage in London last night, as part of the lineup for the annual Tickled Pink charity concert.

The X Factor stars performed a variety of songs at the “Girls’ Night Out” concert for the Breast Cancer Care charity, of which Burke is an ambassador. When accepting the role, she revealed that she felt a strong connection to the cause, after her aunt Jean died of breast cancer.

At the show Alex performed some of her hit singles such as ‘Bad Boys’ and ‘Don’t Let Me Start Without You’

Meanwhile Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock all wore bright pink accessories for the charity gig at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and the four piece group performed several songs, including their No.1 single Cannonball.

Also on the lineup of the show were The Saturdays, Chipmunk and Dionne Bromfield.

The big X Factor chart battle normally takes place around October / November each year however it looks like there may be another big competition taking place in just a few weeks time.

Former stars of the ITV show Alexandra Burke, Little Mix, Cheryl Cole and Leona Lewis will all reportedly be releasing new music this March and will go head to head in the UK charts before Easter.

Alexandra recently revealed that her new single ‘Elephant’ has been postponed and will be released on March the 11th. It is the third delay to the release date, since Burke departed from Simon Cowell’s record label SYCO last year.

Leona Lewis will be releasing her delayed album Glassheart the same month and there are some rumours that she will also be releasing a second single from the record, despite disappointing sales of her latest effort ‘Collide.’

It has been claimed that ‘Promise This’ hitmaker Cheryl Cole will also premiere a single from her third solo album in March and insiders told The Daily Star that the star is ‘confident’ it will be her best record so far.

Last but not least it has been claimed that SYCO are hoping to rush release Little Mix’s new album this spring, most likely because they know if they leave it much longer people may have forgotten who they are.

Alexandra Burke has admitted that her record label have decided to delay her new single…. again!

The former X Factor winner had been expected to release ‘Elephant’ in late 2011 but recently it’s release date was confirmed as February 26th. However RCA has now decided to push the date back to March. Alex announced the news on Twitter saying:

“OK… SO ONE MORE THING TO TELL YOU ALL …MY SINGLE RELEASE DATE HAS MOVED 2 MARCH 11TH 2012. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD GUYS… !!!! ELEPHANT IS NOW OUT ON THE 11TH MARCH!!!! (sic)”

She later added: “For those asking … Elephant has been moved to the 11th march 2012 because Rca decided to move it.”

It was recently confirmed that to coincide with the original launch date of her single Alexandra would feature in her very own edition of TheirMag, a newly formed sister publication to Rio Ferdinand’s #5 magazine. It is not yet clear if this will still go ahead, or be moved to a later date.

Alex revealed that she will perform the single live for the very first time during her set for Asda’s Tickled Pink charity concert on Thursday 12th January 2012. It is expected the single mix will air on radios for the first time during the week of the concert.

Alexandra Burke admitted that she is hoping Kelly Rowland takes sick again, or falls off a cliff, or gets stuck in bad traffic, because she wants to take her seat on The X Factor judging panel for a second time.

The former winner replaced the Destinys Child star on the ITV show a few weeks ago, when the brunette beauty took ill and was advised by her doctors to stay in America until she recovered.

Speaking to The Daily Star, Burke confessed that while she was shocked to get the call, she would most definitely fill in again. She said:

“X Factor was insane, I got the call four hours before we went on air.

“I was shopping for my little brother for his birthday, so I was very nervous.

“But it was an honour. I’d love to do it again.”

Next thing you know she’ll be angling for a Britain’s Got Talent role!

The Xtra Factor panel were in total agreement last night, for probably the first time this series.

On the ITV2 X Factor spin off show, DJ Johnny Vaughan, Westlife star Kian Egan and former show winner Alexandra Burke were invited on to give their opinions on the night’s performances and they all agreed, Marcus Collins and Little Mix totally slammed it!

Former Big Breakfast star Johnny started the love in, declaring:

I thought Marcus gave the outstanding showbiz performance. It really was fully showbiz.

He added:

But the outstanding musical moment for me of the evening, was when Little Mix, just at the end, went into their acapella harmony, which not many British girl bands have ever done. They normally sing in unison. They broke it down. They really did it! It was the best sound of the whole evening.

Alexandra Burke was in total agreement and explained:

For me, Little Mix and Marcus stole the show for me tonight. I think they’re going to be in the finals.

Kian went on:

I do agree. Little Mix probably because they upped it an awful lot tonight. This week I thought they were really strong. And Marcus seemed to be in the flow, really performing well, as if it was really natural to him.

Janet Devlin celebrated a return to form on tonight’s X Factor show but Alexandra Burke doesn’t think she’s done enough to establish herself as a front runner.

The 17 year old singer wowed the judges with her take on Sixpence None The Richer’s ‘Kiss Me’ and even Gary Barlow praised the performance afterwards.

However, speaking afterwards on The Xtra Factor, Alex claimed that Janet needs to move out of her comfort zone if she wants to keep the public interested.

She said:

Sometimes in these situations when you get criticism for the judges it will knock your confidence but Janet is who she is, she’s found her comfort zone and she likes it.

Burke added:

If you’re performing within that comfort zone it’s a good thing for you but maybe not for the audience. You’ve got to keep changing it up every week and I think that’s what Janet needs to do. She has to get it a little bit spicier.

Alexandra Burke has admitted that she thinks Misha Bryan’s new look really suited her on last night’s X Factor show.

The Mancunian singer wore her hair loose for the first time on the series and opted for a more normal outfit of trousers and a fitted jacket, instead of the crazy creations she has modelled in previous weeks.

Former series winner Burke thinks it worked and told Misha:

Misha, your look this week was amazing. It was softer, it was beautiful and you sang from your heart so well done baby.

Misha’s performance of Proud Mary wowed the judges once more last night and she received amazing comments about her vocals and stage routine.

Speaking afterwards on The Xtra Factor, she revealed that it was her favourite performance of the series, explaining:

For me that’s the best moment I’ve ever had on any stage. I just felt free and really happy.

Misha Bryan has admitted that she was stunned when she found out that she would be mentored by Alexandra Burke last week.

The X Factor contestant was left leaderless, when Kelly Rowland took sick in America and was unable to fly back to the UK for the live shows. However, at the last minute former show winner Alex stepped in and Misha was elated with the producers’ choice.

She told ITV.com:

Alexandra Burke, oh my gosh. When I found out that she was coming down I was so over the moon. I was literally gobsmacked.

When Alexandra was on the show I voted for her 50 times, every time and I cried like a baby when she won. To actually be on the show now and have her support and advice is mind blowing, She’s absolutely amazing!

However, if she could choose her dream mentor, Misha wouldn’t pick Burke, she’d pick American superstar Oprah Winfrey and added:

When I think of inspiration I think of Oprah Winfrey and I’d be over the moon to have her even talk to me, let alone be my mentor.

And on which of her fellow contestant she’d like be, if given the chance, Bryan giggled:

I think I’d like to be Johnny, because he is so hilarious. He’s so exciting, his energy is always at the top, he never stops.

Alexandra Burke has admitted that Misha B may have ended up in the bottom two on last night’s X Factor results show, because of personal comments which were made about her last week.

Both Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh attacked the Mancunian contestant last Saturday and instead of critiquing her performance, accused her of being ‘mean’ backstage and a ‘bully’ to other contestants.

They have both tried to play down their remarks, but speaking on tonight’s Xtra Factor, after Misha was saved from elimination by the judges, Burke insisted that people need to stop voting based on personalities.

The former X Factor winner was standing in for Kelly Rowland and said:

The things in the public eye can sometimes make a difference to people’s votes and people’s minds but what people need to realise is that this show is not based on what people talk about and what’s in the press, it is simply about the talent. Everyone needs to realise that if it’s a good performance, it’s a good performance, forget about what everyone is saying.

On whether she thinks Misha can go on to win, Alex added:

Absolutely and what is great about this year is you can’t call it. You really cannot call who is going to win or who is going to be in the bottom two. It’s a fantastic year this year.
