Winfrey’s No Phone Zone is an initiative that encourages people to avoid talking and texting on their cell phones whilst driving……sounds like a worthwhile campaign.

American Idol star Adam Lambert had already asked fellow Idol alumni Allison Iraheta to support him on his upcoming Glam Nation tour and now he has invited the teenager to come and live with him too.

During an interview with America’s Latina magazine, in which Allison discusses her Salvadoran roots and the fact that sales of her debut album weren’t too hot, Adam revealed that he wants to take her under his wing and offered her a place to stay if she decides to go to college.

He added:

“Allison’s still like my little sister, even though we don’t get to see each other as much.”

Allison’s thoughts on becoming Adam’s roomie? “My mom loves Adam, but I don’t know,” she tells the magazine. “That’s gonna be a tough one to sell.”

On the future of Allison’s music career Adam added:

“It’s going to take some time, but she’ll get there.”

And if he can help her at all, it looks like he’ll be more than happy to do so!

American Idol star Allison Iraheta has admitted that she has a soft spot for show judge Simon Cowell and insisted that his fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy is one lucky woman.

Allison Iraheta, finished in fourth place on last year’s Idol and has said that Simon Cowell is not mean at all and that during her time on the show, she actually found him to be really nice.

“I know everyone says he’s so mean,” Iraheta told People at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards. “But he’s really nice and I think he’ll be an amazing husband.”

50 year old Cowell reportedly proposed to 36 year old Hussainy on Valentines Day of this year and is said to be planning four weddings next year.

Allison has recently singed up as the support act for Adam Lambert’s upcoming Glam Nation tour.

Former American Idol runner up Adam Lambert took to Twitter last night to announced details of his first North American tour.

The 28 year old singer revealed that his former Idol pal Allison Iraheta and songstress Orianthi will be his support acts for the gigs.

He tweeted:

“The Glam Nation Tour dates will be announced soon! For those who didn’t know, my opening acts are Orianthi and Allison Iraheta!!!”

Lambert also spoke about the tour with Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest:

“I am working on it right now. I am actually about to leave on Sunday for three weeks to go over to the U.K. I go over there. My album is coming out, I’m so excited to do some TV shows and promo out there. All over Europe, it has been a really good response. Then I come back, and right away I start rehearsals for my first North American tour. ”

On the vibe of the show and the stage set Adam added:

“I want it to be atmospheric. I want it to feel like you are somewhere else. I want it to transport people. I can tell you right now that it is going to be called Glam Nation. And it is going to be very glittery and sparkly, but it is going to have that mystery and the mood and the sexy and the celebration. I think the fans are going to be in for a real treat.”

Former American Idol competitor Allison Iraheta opened the Los Angeles marathon today with a gorgeous rendition of the American National Anthem.

Celebrities taking part in the marathon were celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, actor Shia LaBeouf and Lord of the Rings actor Sean Astin. We wonder if they enjoyed Allison’s performance?

Last year’s American Idol semi-finalist Allison Iraheta made her return to the show last night to perform her new single.

Te seventeen year old singer performed “Scars”, the second single (following “Friday I’ll Be Over U””) from her debut album Just Like You.

Iraheta finished fourth last year on the show, behind Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. She later singed a record deal with Jive Records and 19 Recordings.

American Idol singer Allison Iraheta has become the third contestant from this years show to sign with 19 Recordings and Jive Records.

17-year-old Allison, follows in the footsteps of Kris Allen and Adam Lambert. She finished in fourth place and will release her debut album in the autumn.

“I think I’m still in shock that this is happening – getting to record my first album and this whole awesome experience is a dream come true,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

Danny Gokey is the only contestant from the top four who has not yet landed a deal. “There’s nothing to report just yet,” said a 19 Recordings spokesperson.

Allison Iraheta was made for rock week and who would believe that the little diva is only 17 years old? She belted out the Janis Joplin classic ‘Cry Baby’ as if she had the life experience of a 40 year old and her vocals were truly amazing.

Randy didn’t love the song choice, Kara would have preferred Break Another Little Piece Of My Heart, I think they’re deaf. I was loving Allison’s performance tonight.

Allison turned 17 this week, not that you would know it if you listen to her huge belting vocals.

The judges praised her efforts – apart from Cowell , who told her that he doesn’t think she believes she can win and that “she might be in trouble tonight”.

I would have to disagree with Cowell. I loved Allison’s rendition of this song. I loved her perfect vocals and her husky tone. Allison to win (or at least make the final) I say!
