American comedienne Ellen DeGeneres has revealed that she is proud of American Idol runner up, Adam Lambert.
Adam outed himself (not that he was really ever in the closet anyway) in last months Rolling Stone magazine, DeGeneres similarly admitted to being a lesbian in Time magazine back in 1997.
She told TV Guide: “I’m proud of him, and I’m happy for anyone who has the guts to actually tell the world who they are and not fear they are going to lose their career or alienate anybody.”
American Idolw inner Kris Allen has revealed that he and his wife are not ready to start a family.
The man who doesn’t even look old enough to be married, told People that “now would not be a good time” to have children.
“We do not have any plans to start a family,” he said. “Right now would not be a good time – I don’t think that I would ever be around, so we are definitely gonna hold off on that for a while.”
American Idol runner up Adam Lambert has admitted that he is unsure about joining rock band Queen.
The group’s guitarist Brian May has said that he would love to work with Adam but the singer is unsure that he could commit to the band full time Pop Eater reports.
He said: “How do you say no to being in Queen? I mean, that’s unbelievable. But at the same time, I do have my own thing to do right now, and that’s my goal.”
American Idol runner up Adam Lambert has insisted that his debut record won’t be “one specific genre”.
Lambert told E!:
“Obviously, we want the album to have a cohesive sound, but I think it can kind of be a collection of different styles with me at the centre as the common thread,” he explained.
When asked if the LP would have any of the the ’80s glam rock sound he showcased on Idol, Adam said that “little bits” of the genre would be present.
“If anything, I’m more fond of the ’70s glam feel than the ’80s, even though I have that vocal style,” Lambert added. “There are a lot of pop artists using the glam kind of vibe in their music. So I think I’m part of a wave, and there just happens to not be many guys doing it right now.”
Former American Idol contestant Clay Aiken has admitted that he didn’t think much of this year’s runner up Adam Lambert.
Now I don’t pay $29.95 a year to read the ramblings of Mr Aiken but some of you do and thanks for emailing me the following quote from his blog. He said:
I couldn’t be happier with the way AI ended this year. I only turn the show on once a season and only to see what the set looks like. This year, I happened to turn it on during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing “Ring of Fire,” and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening! I wasn’t really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me that they liked him.
Last night’s American Idol threw up a lot of surprises, but for me the biggest was seeing Kara DioGuardi perform a duet with bikini girl in her very own skimpy swimwear.
Check out the video above and hear Kara belting out Mariah’s Vision Of Love. I have to say with a voice like that she could have won American Idol herself. It beats Paula Abdul’s recent performance hands down.
After 620 million votes, 100,000 auditions, a new judge and a bikini girl, Kris Allen has snatched this years American Idol title. This shock result occurred despite Simon Cowell predicting that Adam Lambert would steal the crown.
In the final showdown each contestant had to sing three songs, their own favourite, a choice from Simon Fuller, and the winner’s single ‘No Boundaries’. On the results show the pair took part in collaborations with Keith Urban and Kiss, I’m sure you can guess who sang with who and they ended with a duet of the Queen classic, ‘We Are The Champions’.
American Idol Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood appeared on last night’s American Idol final and closed the show with Home Sweet Home.
Her cover of the original hit by Mötley Crüe has aired on each results show during the Top 12 as the goodbye theme for contestants leaving the competition.
I have come to really love Carrie’s music in recent years and whilst this performance wasn’t anywhere near as moving as her earlier appearance on the series with Randy Travis, it was still a great effort. I can’t find an embeddable version of Carrie’s performance last night, but here is a version of the song she recorded earlier.
After Danny Gokey left the American Idol semi-final, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert flipped a coin to decide who would sing first in next weeks final show. Kris Allen won the toss and he wisely chose Adam Lambert to sing first.
Kris Allen and Adam Lambert have made it through to next week’s final of American Idol, Danny Gokey was eliminated last night.
Listening to the three semi-finalists performance on Youtube I am not at all surprised that Kris got through. He performed Heartless by Kanye West, but he wiped the floor with Kanye’s own performance on the show a few weeks ago. Adam did an amazing job with U2’s One but Danny Gokey definitely underwhelmed with his chosen track, ‘Dance Little Sister.’
Judge Simon Cowell told the contestants: “Look, none of us would have predicted this, guys.” I find that a strange statement given that Simon predicted that Adam would win just a few days ago.
So who are you backing to win next week? Have a listen to last night’s performances and leave your comments below.
Simon Cowell has predicted that Adam Lambert will win this season of American Idol.
“I would have to put my money on Adam right now,” he told Oprah Winfrey on the Monday edition of her talk show.
“I think he’s got that ‘it’. I think he’s fearless and I think he’s unique. And he’s got swagger.”
Here’s hoping that Simon’s got it right this time, as Adam is by far the best singer and performer left on the show. He is the most memorable and charismatic person to appear on the show in years, but it isn’t a great sign that he ended up in the bottom two just a few weeks ago.
