X Factor bosses are reportedly planning to stage an Amy Winehouse themed episode.

Although this week the contestants will perform songs that fit with a rock theme, however laster in the current series, the remaining hopefuls will sing songs made famous by the ‘Back To Black’ hitmaker.

Amy passed away earlier this year, and as a tribute to the talented star, producers are also said to have lined up a performance from her niece, Dionne Bromfield on an upcoming results show.

Dionne told the Daily Star newspaper: “They are doing a tribute episode to Amy and I’ve been asked to sing something. You’ll have to wait and see what I do.”

While alive, Winehouse was a big fan of The X Factor and became close to former contestant of last year’s series Katie Waissel.

She was always vocal about which contestants impressed her and those who didn’t, and in 2010 revealed that she was a big fan of then finalist Rebecca Ferguson. However in 2009 Amy threatened to boycott the show if Simon Cowell kept saving Jedward from elimination.

X Factor bosses are said to be planning an Amy Winehouse on one of the live shows this series.

Simon Cowell is said to be the mastermind behind the plan and is keen to pay tribute to the late Grammy award winning singer, who passed away at her Camden home in July.

A show source told The Mirror that Cowell “felt it was only right for X Factor to honour Amy”.

The insider added: “She epitomises everything the show is about – a normal person with an amazing voice who will be remembered as a British music icon for ever.”

Amy was an avid fan of the ITV show and was close friends with former star of last year’s series Katie Waissel, who she took out on the town after her elimination. She admitted last winter to being a big fan of then contestant Rebecca Ferguson also, though in 2009 threatened to boycott the show if Simon Cowell kept saving Jedward from the axe.

Heshima Thompson has made his second bid for X Factor success this year, it has been reported.

The 24 year old singer – who previously worked as a backing singer for the late star Amy Winehouse – is reported to have made the bootcamp stage of the TV competition, which started filming at the weekend.

Heshima – who is also an actor and recently starred in Eastenders spinoff show E20 – tired out for the new judging panel – Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh – earlier this year and insiders say he blew the judges away with his rendition of UsHer’s OMG.

However, it won’t be Thompson’s first time trying out for the ITV show. We reported back in 2009 that he wowed Simon Cowell at London tryouts that year, by singing ‘Breakeven’ by The Script. He made bootcamp then too, but was eliminated before the judges houses stage.

Reality TV star Kerry Katona has told Now magazine that she was able to relate to Amy Winehouse’s battle with booze and drug addictions since she’s been through it herself.

Kerry, who claims to have been “clean” for a year and a half, said, “I could not stop thinking how lucky I was to find the strength that I found to get myself out of the s**t that I was in.

“Amy was so young, but I can so relate to what she was doing.

“It can be so easy to get some drugs in, have a few drinks and lose sight of reality.”

Kerry also revealed that it was for the sake of her four children that she kicked her addictions.

She said, “I feel so sad about Amy and my heart goes out to all her friends, her family, her fans and everyone who knew and loved her.

“But if you mess with drugs, you’ve got to deal with the consequences before it’s too late.”

Dionne said, “She tried to be scary once but failed! She said, ‘Dionne, come into my office,’ which was actually her bedroom, and she suddenly tried to be all strict!

“I told her, ‘Amy, please don’t ever become a judge on The X Factor because you’ll so fail!

“She calls me Big Sister, which is silly because she’s twice my age. But she says I give her more advice than she gives me, so she’s the little sis.”

The singer went on to say that she would never audition for The X Factor herself because she feels the show “takes advantage” of the aspiring contestants…

She said, “I watch it and it’s good for people to get themselves known, but they use you to their advantage.

“Just look at that Wagner! That was a joke.

“It’s not nice that they think they’re getting that far because people like them. “I met Simon once and I was expecting him to say, ‘You’ve not got it,’ but he was very nice.”

X Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson has a lot of support from the stars.

The Liverpudlian singer sailed through last night’s results show and will compete in the semi final next Saturday. In an interview with Radio 1′s Newsbeat she admitted that ‘Chasing Pavements’ singer Adele has written to her, complimenting her voice and if she can get as many votes as she has celebrity admirers, she just might make the final too.

Rebecca said:

“Adele actually wrote me a letter. It was such a surprise and I felt very privileged.

“I’m a big fan of her music and it’s a good feeling to have such a talented person say they like my voice.”

“Paloma Faith has said she would be interested in working with me,” she added. “I also heard a rumour that Amy Winehouse would like to write a song for me.

“They are both such amazing artists, I feel really flattered.”

Edith Bowman, Nicole Scherzinger and Louie Spence have previously admitted that they have loved watching Rebecca perform week after week.

Katie Waissel reportedly sneaked out of the X Factor mansion this week and indulged in a bit of down time with her famous pal, Amy Winehouse.

The pair were spotted drinking until the early hours at Amy’s favourite pub The Hawley Arms in North London, despite the fact that X Factor contestants are supposed to adhere to a strict 11pm curfew each night.

A source told The Sun that Katie used the time to pick Amy’s brain and get some tips on how to cope with the pressures of fame. They said:

“Katie idolises Amy and would love to follow in her footsteps. Amy was wishing her well and telling her not to listen to all the haters.”

Mitch Winehouse has admitted that his daughter Amy wanted to fill in for Dannii Minogue on this year’s X Factor.

The ‘Rehab’ star wanted to act as a guest judge on the show’s panel but her daddy said no, no, no amidst fears that the singer would be arrested for verbally abusing auditionees.

Mitch told The Daily Star:

“There’s no way Amy could stand in for Dannii. If you thought Simon Cowell was harsh with the contestants you haven’t seen anything yet.

“Amy would probably get arrested for verbal assault or something.”

“Amy is a real perfectionist,” he added. “She wouldn’t mind telling someone exactly what she thought of their performance.

“That’s why her albums take so long to finish. Each song is like giving a pint of blood for Amy. She puts her whole heart and soul into it.”

Mitch Winehouse, father of the famous songstress Amy has expressed his dislike of Katie Price and also revealed that Amy and Alex Reid have been swapping lingerie tips.

In his new online show Mitch Winehouse’s Showbiz Rant, Mitch rambled:

I got the right hump today; Jordan’s out of the jungle. And as for her dumping Alex live on TV, I will be sad to see the back of him because his choice in underwear is absolutely superb. In fact we went underwear shopping the other day, Amy and I were in Selfridges and he was in there, Amy and Alex were swapping lingerie tips.

Mitch Winehousehas revealed that his daughter Amy, stopped him from appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

“When I told Amy I had the interview, she went mad – she says, ‘You’re not doing it dad,’ she wouldn’t let me do it,” he said on Mitch Winehouse’s Showbiz Rant.

Mitch is now backing former Page 3 girl Sam Fox to win the show.

“Now the one person in the jungle I do admire is Sam Fox,” he continued.

“Sam Fox was obviously the prototype for Jordan; lovely big boobs, very very nice girl, highly professional and maybe, a little bit of what Sam Fox does will rub off on Jordan.”

Mitch also hinted that leaky breast implants recently led to a trip to the hospital for Amy.

“Well I can’t say why she went into hospital, but it wasn’t because she had a cold. She’s fine, she just had a little leaky something or other,” he said, pointing to his chest.
