Strictly Come Dancing competitor, Andrew Castle, has claimed that his wife is not at all jealous of his dance partner, Olga Jordan, despite her skimpy outfits on the show.

The GMTV presenter told The Sun: “We have never been jealous of each other.

“That would be just silly. We’re past that age now and I love Sophia.”

But Castle admitted: “If she was my age, perhaps it wouldn’t be so suitable.”

“Ola’s a beautiful girl and she knows how to move. She’s one of the most athletic and supple creatures in the world.”

GMTV presenter, Andrew Castle has revealed that dancing on Strictly Come Dancing was the most intimidating thing he has ever done!

He admitted to the Daily Mirror: “I’ve walked along the wing of a flying aircraft, done a bungee jump and watched my wife give birth twice and this was by far the most intimidating.

“Every element scares me. Sequins, shirts slashed to the navel and dancing in front of 10 million people.”

Andrew has been branded as the first GMTV presenter with rythmn by show judge, Arlene Phillips, a fact which seems to amuse his co-stars.

Andrew said: “Kate (Garraway) and Fiona (Phillips) are loving this. They know it’ll be an ordeal. But whatever you say about their performances, they both got quite far. Getting past the first week is a major result for me.”

Strictly Come Dancing head judge, Len Goodman, has tipped GMTV presenter Andrew Castle for great things during this series of the show.

Andrew is expected to break the tradition of really bad dancing GMTV presenters by making it through the initial stages of the show because of his talent and not on the basis of a sympathy vote.

“He’s going to be the one that breaks the mould of the GMTV voodoo,” Goodman told the News of the World. “We’ve had Fiona Phillips and Kate Garraway, now we’ve got him. He could be quite a good dancer. He’s good-looking and a lot of people know him.”

However, Len does not expect such greatness from celebrity chef, Gary Rhodes.

“I love Karen dearly but I don’t think he’ll shape up at all,” Len explained. “He’s got nothing going for him, being a chef. He hasn’t got the actor’s background, sports person’s background, pop singer’s background. I can’t see him lasting long.”

Andrew is very much a housewives’ favourite. The retired British tennis player is currently seen in households across the country each morning as he co-hosts ITV1’s GMTV.

The former British number one in both singles and doubles became professional in 1986 and later a key member of the BAFTA-nominated BBC tennis team covering Wimbledon, The Artois Championships at Queen’s Club, The French Open, Australian Open and The Davis Cup.

Andrew says: “I don’t usually dance for fear of being categorised as an embarrassing dad, but I’m getting tips from Fiona Phillips and Kate Garraway who have both said that this show was the best thing that they have ever done in their lives.”
