Britain’s Got Talent: Andrew Johnston The Next Andrea Bocelli?

Britain’s Got Talent contestant, Andrew Johnston has said that he would love to be as famous as his idol Andrea Bocelli, but he has to wait for his voice to break first.

Andrew told The Sun: “I’d like to be as big as Andrea Bocelli but I’ll have to see what my voice is like when it breaks – I’m looking forward to hearing what it sounds like.

But he admitted: “I won’t be able to hit high notes like I’ve been able to now.”

Andrew Johnston Wins Recording Contract With Simon Cowell

Teenage choirboy, Andrew Johnston, may not have won this years Britain’s Got Talent, but the dream isn’t over as he has now landed a record deal with Simon Cowell’s record company.

Andrew reached the ITV show’s final last month but was pipped to the post by teenage street dancer, George Sampson.

However it has emerged today that SyCo Music, Simon Cowell’s division of record label Sony BMG, have offered him a recording deal. Read more & comment »

Britain’s Got Talent: Andrew Johnston In Semi Final

Andrew is a 13 year old singer from Carlisle. He has been a classical singer since the age of six and sings with the Carlisle Cathedral Choir. His hero is Aled Jones and he hopes to be as big as him one day.

Andrew has been singing at Carlisle Cathedral since he was 7 because his primary teacher said he had a good voice. Mr Suter (his Choirmaster) gave him his audition and he’s been there ever since.

There have been times when Andrew has wanted to quit because of peer pressure and bullying but he’s had the kindness, discipline and safety of the Cathedral to help him through. He’s had so many wonderful times at choir and he so wanted to be head chorister and that’s what he has now achieved by sticking with it and it was a very proud moment for him. Read more & comment »
